S.W. Nepal Pvt. Ltd. (Scott Wilson Nepal/SWN) is a wholly Nepali-owned multidisciplinary research and infrastructure development consulting service provider. Since 2000, SWN has been working with multiple development partners and the Government of Nepal, delivering quality outputs in the design and management of locally and government-led projects and programs. The projects are focused on local organization capacity development strengthening local government capabilities, green resilient infrastructure development, and monitoring and evaluation (M&E) of the projects and programmes.

Terms of Reference

Position: Resilient Roads Officer

Working Days: 5 days a week (Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.)

Contract: Long-term with a gradual upgrade in position and remuneration

Probation Period: 3 months probation period

Reporting to: Green Infrastructure Manager

Scott Wilson Nepal (SWN) is seeking to engage a competent Roads Engineer, with an appropriate master’s degree and 5 to 10 years of relevant experience. This position of Resilient Roads Officer shall be assigned by SWN to engage with an international and SWN national expert team working in multi-sectoral areas in managing and technical backstopping an important Technical Assistance programme funded by the Asian Development Bank.

The Resilient Road Officer shall have experience and strong competency in:

  • Management and communication (oral and written) in coordinating capacity-building activities
  • Excellent management and interpersonal skills and communication expertise, including report writing in English and Nepali. The position shall work with and receive high-quality technical support from SWN technical management teams.
  • Exposure and understanding of work in areas of bio-engineering techniques, landslide mitigation, road safety, climate resilience, and road asset management.

This is a long-term position with possible internalization within the core team at SWN.
