Shanti Foundation is a community-based nonprofit organization working to promote the health, safety, and protection of vulnerable and high-risk women and children. It is established and led by trafficking survivors living with HIV promoting the health, safety, and protection of vulnerable and high-risk women, children, and communities.
Shanti Foundation is currently looking for the following experienced and dynamic team players on a contract basis, which is renewable thereafter subject to satisfactory performance and available funds.
1. Position: Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Officer – 1
Location: Kathmandu office with frequent field visit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take responsibility for the overall MEAL and learning needs of the project, providing findings based on real data.
- Ensure that all reporting requirements are met in a timely manner (both internal and external) by the concerned program staff, tracking the completion of monthly, quarterly, mid-year, and annual reports as required.
- Prepare regular progress reports, success stories, case studies, and work plans.
- Provide technical support to ensure that reports are of high quality and evidence-based.
- Ensure that the project maintains its strategic vision and that activities result in the timely achievement of intended outcomes.
- Collaborate with program staff and/or external consultants, participate in the implementation of surveys or studies, and analyze results to inform project design and program implementation.
- Share and discuss MEAL findings and compiled data with relevant program staff and authorities to inform program activities.
- Ensure that feedback is regularly received from field offices through various channels and is entered promptly into the database.
- Travel to field offices to ensure and monitor the data collection process is consistent and accurate.
- Support the facilitation of capacity-building and strengthening sessions for staff through continuous training and coaching.
- Any other tasks as assigned.
Qualification and Experience:
Minimum requirements:
- Familiarity with monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning.
- Knowledge of both qualitative and quantitative research methods; study methodology, M&E techniques and tools, and application of computer software (MS Excel, word processing, PowerPoint, Kobo Toolbox) and experience using statistical packages and online reporting systems.
- Demonstrated understanding of data protection and confidentiality as part of data collection and management practices, with the ability to respect and maintain confidentiality.
- Fluency in both written and spoken Nepali and English is essential.
- Training development and facilitation skills are desirable.
- Empathy skills and respect for the needs of vulnerable populations.
- Familiarity with working for NGOs in Combating Trafficking in Persons is highly desirable.
Minimum Qualification:
- At least a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, Social Work, Gender, Women’s Studies, Human Rights, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of working experience in I/NGOs in a similar position; however, freshers are also encouraged to apply.
