A renowned NGO is looking for the following staff:

1. Position Title: Training, and MEL Coordinator

Location: Kathmandu office-based with the requirement of frequent travel

Start Date: 24 March 2025

Position Overview:

The Training and MEL Coordinator plays a pivotal role in organizing and managing training programs and conducting research related activities. Working closely with program team, the coordinator is typically responsible for organizing, implementing, and overseeing training programs, surveys, and related processes within an organization and ensure that training initiatives align with organization's goals while also designing and managing surveys to collect valuable data about the effectiveness of the programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, or coordinate the development of training programs that align with organizational goals.
  • Create and Manage Training Schedules and Materials including manuals, presentations, and online resources and ensure timely execution including sourcing trainers, training materials, resources, and content.
  • Plan and coordinate the logistics of training sessions, including scheduling, booking venues (in-person or virtual), ensuring necessary equipment, and securing trainers or facilitators.
  • Design and carry out evaluation plans to assess the effectiveness, relevance, and impact of various programs and projects and create reports as per the organization’s requirements.
  • Collect and analyze the data from surveys, identifying key trends, strengths, and areas for improvement including quantitative and qualitative analysis as per the requirement of the organization.
  • Flexibility and a willingness to take on additional responsibilities as the organization requires.

Qualifications and Experience:

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field, such as:
    • Development Studies
    • Social Sciences
    • Public Health
    • Community Development
    • Agriculture
    • Education or similar disciplines

Professional Experience:

  • 2 years of experience in community development, Monitoring Evaluation and Learning, training, survey coordination. Experience could be in community-based projects, NGOs/INGOs, or development-focused organizations.
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience in survey design, data collection, and data analysis in rural or underserved areas (depending on the geographical focus of the organization).
  • Proven experience in conducting and facilitating training for diverse audiences (such as community members, local staff, or volunteers).
  • Experience in field-based coordination, ensuring that survey activities are aligned with project timelines, logistics, and targets.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Proficiency in both Nepali and English language, with the ability to communicate effectively with local communities, partners, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to design and implement surveys, collect data, and analyze the results effectively using various tools (e.g., KOBO toolbox, Excel, SPSS, or other data analysis software).
  • Strong facilitation skills for training sessions, workshops, and meetings, ensuring content is well delivered and participants are engaged.
  • Ability to work in a diverse, multicultural environment with flexibility, adaptability, and a proactive approach to challenges.
  • A driving license, own motorcycle/scooter and high-resolution photo taking mobile phone are required.

2. Position Title: Proposal and Report Writing Coordinator

Location: Kathmandu office-based, involves frequent field visits

Start Date: 24 March 2025

Position Overview:

The Proposal and Report Writing Coordinator plays a key role in developing and coordinating high-quality proposals and reports to meet both donor and internal organizational needs. This position will work closely with program teams, monitoring and evaluation specialists, and senior leadership to ensure clear, effective, and persuasive communication about the programs and initiatives of the organization. The coordinator will be responsible for ensuring that reports and proposals meet the expectations of stakeholders such as donors, partners, and the public, in a timely and professional manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate the preparation of persuasive and comprehensive proposals to secure funding from a variety of donors, including government agencies, foundations, and corporate partners.
  • Coordinate with program team and team leader to identify funding needs and align proposals and documents with the strategic plan, priorities, and policies of the organization
  • Write clear, compelling, and well-structured proposals, ensuring that they align with the organization's mission, vision, and strategic objectives.
  • Ensure timely submission of proposals, maintaining a calendar of funding opportunities and deadlines.
  • Flexibility and a willingness to take on additional responsibilities as the organization requires.

Qualifications and Experience:

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., development studies, communications, international development, or public relations).
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with an ability to translate complex information into clear, compelling narratives with the proficiency to translate Nepali to English and English to Nepali language.
  • Excellent organizational and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and evaluation frameworks and how they integrate into reporting.

Professional Experience:

  • At least 3-5 years of experience in proposal writing, report writing, or communications, preferably in the non-profit or development sector.
  • Experience with international donors and other bilateral or multilateral funding agencies is desirable.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and evaluation systems and reporting requirements is a plus.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills both in English and Nepali language with the ability to write clear, compelling, and results-oriented proposals and reports.
  • Excellent editing and proofreading skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with proposal and donor reporting platforms.
  • Knowledge of project management and monitoring and evaluation concepts.
  • A driving license, own motorcycle/scoter and high-resolution photo taking mobile phone are required.
