Prerana, a national-level NGO established in 1998, is dedicated to safeguarding and advancing the rights of women, the poor, people with disabilities, and other marginalized communities. Currently, the organization operates in Madhesh and Bagmati Provinces of Nepal. Prerana is expanding its projects to additional provinces through partnerships with national and international NGOs, as well as local, provincial, and federal governments, and other key stakeholders. The organization is now seeking experienced and qualified candidates for the following positions.
1. Disability and Inclusion Coordinator (DIC) – 1 (one)
Key responsibilities: The Disability & Inclusion Coordinator (DIC) will be primarily responsible for ensuring the successful implementation of the Australian NGO Cooperation Program (ANCP) funded SIKAI PLUS project in partnership with World Vision International Nepal. The role includes maximizing the organization's value, strengthening liaison and collaboration with provincial and local stakeholders, and I/NGOs, and leading the disability inclusion component of the project. This includes collaborating with the physical rehabilitation centre run by Prerana. Additionally, the DIC will assist in HR and financial management, including recruitment, appraisal, capacity building, and auditing. The coordinator will also collaborate and work as a team with consortium partners for planning and implementation.
Requirements: Applicants should hold a minimum of a Bachelor's degree (preferably a Master's degree) in Physiotherapy, Public Health, Social Science, or a related field from a recognized university. The candidate must have over five (5) years of work experience in Inclusive Education, Rehabilitation, and Accessibility in related fields, with a willingness to travel and spend time in project districts and community areas. Effective collaboration with partners, financial management skills, and excellent communication abilities are essential.
2. Finance & Admin Officer (FAO) -1 (one)
Key responsibilities: The Finance & Admin Officer (FAO) will primarily be responsible for administrative operations, reporting, accounting, and filing. Under the supervision of the Disability & Inclusion Coordinator (DIC) and with guidance from the Finance Admin Coordinator at Prerana's head office, the FAO will ensure the successful implementation of the ANCP-funded SIKAI PLUS project, in partnership with World Vision International Nepal.
The FAO will approach their duties with proactive and innovative methods, focusing on results. This role requires adaptability and efficient ways to meet objectives and provide support. Collaboration with other project staff and consortium partners is essential, maintaining dynamic relationships with all parties involved.
Requirements: Applicants should hold a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from a recognized university, with three (3) years of work experience in a similar field, or a Master's degree with one (1) year of work experience in a similar capacity. Applicants must be able to travel and spend time in project districts and community areas.
Both positions are based in the project office in Chandrapur, Rautahat. Salary and benefits will be in accordance with the organization's policies. The contract duration is one year, with the possibility of annual renewal for up to five years, contingent on the project's duration.
