VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
Good Neighbors International (GNI) Nepal has been working since 2002 for improving the lives of poor people, especially children through child protection, education, income generation, health services, water, sanitation and hygiene, disaster risk reduction/climate change adaptation, and advocacy programs. Currently, GNI Nepal serves marginalized, vulnerable, and poor children, families, and communities in 20 districts across Nepal. GNI Nepal now invites applications for following positions:
POSITION:
1. Coordinator – Program Development and Knowledge Management, Head Office (one)
Job Description:
- Identify potential fundraising opportunities, conduct comprehensive literature reviews, and provide well-informed recommendations
- Conduct research on donor trends, prepare detailed donor profiles, and engage with GNI support countries to identify funding priorities
- Develop and update the fundraising strategy for GNI Nepal
- Collaborate with thematic teams to create compelling concept notes and proposals that align with organizational goals and donor expectations
- Systematically compile, update, and review donor profiles to ensure accurate and current information is readily accessible for engagement and reporting
- Carry out assessments, targeted research, or consult with stakeholders to gather insights and evidence, supporting informed program design, and development
- Organize and lead workshops and events focused on proposal development, engaging donors and consortium partners to foster collaboration and alignment
- Develop Knowledge Management Strategy, Framework, and Action Plans
- Design and deliver knowledge management toolkits to develop, capture, store, and share best practices from GNI Nepal interventions
- Determine strategies and approaches to share information and knowledge with external and internal audiences
- Work collaboratively with thematic staff to identify and prioritize types of knowledge to capture and develop
- Serve as a writer of knowledge products for GNI Nepal, promoting organizational approaches and results
- Regularly update and ensure effective implementation of the organization’s Communications Strategy to align with organizational goals
- Prepare, refine, and finalize the annual report, showcasing key achievements, impact, and insights from the year
- Support or lead the creation of Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) and Behavior Change Communication (BCC) materials to effectively engage target audiences
- Undertake field trips and visits to gather content, stories, and insights for communication purposes, enhancing visibility and outreach
- Ensure consistent application of the organization's branding guidelines across all communications and materials
- Support thematic teams and project offices in conducting advocacy related activities
- Work closely with Thematic Departments and Program Development and Communications team to ensure knowledge management efforts are utilized in proposal development as well as different reports
- Drive organizational learning agenda to foster development and use of best practices to improve results of programmatic interventions
Job Specification:
- Master’s Degree in Social Science, Development, Social Work, Public Policy, Communications, Media Studies, Journalism, or other related disciplines
- A minimum of five years of relevant work experience in the development sector
- Excellent creative writing skills
- Proven track record of leading the program development along with creation and dissemination of knowledge products
- Strong analytical skills, demonstrated networking skills, and ability to take initiative
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including active listening skills as well as the ability to negotiate effectively with internal and external colleagues
- Ability to work effectively both independently as well as part of a team
- Ability and willingness to work under pressure with a positive attitude
- Familiarity with relevant information technology, including knowledge management systems
2. IT Intern (one)
Job Description:
- Support IT officer to achieve the project and organization goals via quality IT services
- Troubleshoot, diagnose problems, and implement corrective action procedures within prescribed guidelines
- Ensure configuration of laptops, peripherals, and accounts assigning with high level of security
- Ensure all internet and intranet policies are into effect and as per the needs of the organization
- Organize and maintain IT resources
- Design and install well-functioning computer networks, DVR & Camera, connections and cabling
- Testing and configuring software and maintain and repair hardware and peripheral devices
- Provide technical directions to co-workers on computer and network usage and offer comprehensive advice and instructions
- Carry out regular preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and system support
- To perform duties like installation, rectification and others as and when required
Job Specification:
- Bachelors in IT/ B.E. in Electronics/ Computer or equivalent
- Fresher or experience of related internship completed
- Knowledge on Hardware and Networking
- Basic knowledge on Office 365, troubleshooting and maintenance of computer peripherals, PBX and Telephone system, Data Storage Systems
- Good knowledge of reporting and documentation
- Proficiency in English language
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
