VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
Good Neighbors International (GNI) Nepal has been working since 2002 for improving the lives of poor people, especially children through child protection, education, income generation, health services, water, sanitation and hygiene, disaster risk reduction/climate change adaptation, and advocacy programs. Currently, GNI Nepal serves marginalized, vulnerable, and poor children, families, and communities in 20 districts across Nepal.
GNI Nepal is set to implement the Safe and Enabling Environment for Adolescent Girls and Young Women (SAFE-Girls) Project, funded by Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and executed in partnership with UNFPA, in Rautahat and Sarlahi Districts from 2024 to 2027. The project focuses on combating harmful practices and gender-based violence (GBV) affecting adolescent girls and young women. It aims to create safe spaces, enhance GBV response services, and improve comprehensive sexuality education (CSE).

POSITIONS:
1. Team Lead, SAFE Girls Project - Head Office Based (One)
Scope of Work:
The Team Lead, based at Head Office, is responsible for the overall management of the project activities of the SAFE-Girls project in the target areas. As a core resource of the project, s/he will be responsible for overall coordination and management of the project implementation including providing policy, program and operational management guidance to support project deliverables/results. S/he will manage the project team including Provincial Project Coordinator to ensure timely coordination, operational and financial management, implementation monitoring and reporting of the SAFE-Girls project ensuring full compliance with GNI Nepal’s policies and procedures.
Job Description:
- Oversee daily management of project deliverables, coordinating with relevant staff to ensure activities are completed on schedule according to work plans, with proactive planning, budgeting, financial and narrative reporting, and collaboration with national and international implementing partners.
- Take responsibility to oversee the project and ensure that activities are designed and implemented in alignment with the project document and work plan, including the consistent application of the project’s monitoring and evaluation framework across all activities and outputs.
- Analyze the policy context, lead policy and advocacy engagement to strengthen Gender-Based Violence (GBV) prevention and response services including One Stop Crisis Management Centers (OCMC), Adolescent Friendly Sexual and Reproductive Health (ASRH) services and Adolescent Friendly Information Corners (AFICs) in the SAFE-Girl Project area and design strategies to address the identified gaps and issues.
- Finalize annual work plans for SAFE-Girls project implementation that contributes to GBV prevention, ASHR and response specifying coordination and collaboration plan with provincial and local stakeholder.
- Formulate and execute the capacity building plan for equipping adolescent girls and young women to act as change agents in society.
- Design, develop, and deliver training related to GBV prevention, safe house management, and essential service delivery to partner organizations and stakeholders.
- Design and ensure implementation of prevention and outreach activities to engage community influencers, men and boys for community ownership of gender-based violence and sexual and reproductive health and rights.
- Provide technical guidance and support to local governments to develop gender-transforming in-school CSE curricula, including resource materials.
- Collaborate with provincial and local government units to promote and facilitate gender-responsive policy, planning, and legislation through evidence-based advocacy initiatives integrated into development plans and budgets.
- Support the MEAL and Public Health departments in conducting surveys, research, and evaluations of GBV-related activities of the SAFE-Girls Project and develop monitoring tools to ensure that the program is right-based, gender-responsive, and contributes to the elimination of gender-based violence.
- Prepare periodic (monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual) reports, case studies, case stories, knowledge products, and IEC-BCC materials concerning GBV and report to concerned authorities (province and head office level).
- Design and implement activities to ensure support and prevention systems for survivors of gender-based violence.
Key Competencies:
- Advanced university Degree in Gender Studies/Women’s studies, Public Health, Sociology, Development Studies other pertinent fields.
- At least five to seven years of increasing responsibility and professional experience and expertise in project management and development relevant to gender-based violence, gender equality, reproductive rights, public health, or similar roles.
- Substantive knowledge and practical experience in the area of gender-based violence prevention, ASRH, CSE, advocacy, program implementation, and monitoring and evaluation.
- Experience in reporting to UN agencies and bilateral donors.
- Excellent communication and writing skills in English and Nepali.
- Ability to work collaboratively, supportively, and respectfully with others in multicultural teams and strong networking skills.
2. Provincial Project Coordinator, SAFE-Girls Project, Province Based (One)
Scope of Work:
The Provincial Project Coordinator, based at the target province, is responsible for overall management of the project activities of the SAFE Girls project in the assigned province. The Provincial Coordinator will work closely with other key GNI Nepal technical, program, and operational staff for the effective implementation of the key components of the project and in close collaboration with focal persons from UNFPA in Nepal, partner government/line ministries, and implementing partner organizations. S/he will manage the project and collaboration and coordination with project stakeholders across the assigned province to ensure timely coordination, operational and financial management, implementation monitoring and reporting of the SAFE-Girls project ensuring full compliance with GNI Nepal’s policies and procedures.
Job Description:
- Take responsibility to oversee the project across the assigned province and ensure that activities are designed and implemented in alignment with the project document and work plan, including the consistent application of the project’s monitoring and evaluation framework across all activities and outputs.

- Conduct periodic meetings with the technical task-team and project coordination committees at the provincial and local levels. Collaborate with provincial and local government units to promote and facilitate gender-responsive policy, planning, and legislation through evidence-based advocacy initiatives integrated into development plans and budgets.
- Serve as the focal point for coordinating project activities by liaising with UNFPA Nepal Provincial Office, provincial and local government representatives, and project partners/field offices, as well as planning and organizing joint activities in alignment with the project document in the assigned province.
- Support the MEAL and Public Health departments in conducting surveys, research, and evaluations of GBV-related activities of the SAFE Girls Project.
- Prepare periodic (monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual) reports, case studies, case stories, knowledge products, and Information, Education and Communication - Behavior Change Communication (IEC-BCC) materials concerning GBV and report to concerned authorities (province and head office level).
- Design and implement activities to ensure support and prevention systems for GBV survivors.
Key Competencies:
