Kalika Self-reliance Social Center (KSSC), a non-profit making organization based in Kapilvastu district, Lumbini Province, is soon to implement Strengthening Adolescents' Movement for Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (SAMSARA) project in partnership with Amplify Change UK, in 33 Municipalities across Kapilvastu, Rupandehi & Nawalparshi West districts of Lumbini Province. 

KSSC-Nepal is looking for qualified, experienced, and competent personnel with excellent track record in Sexual & Reproductive Health sector, and are willing to work being based in Lumbini province throughout the project period of two and half years.  

Given below are the positions required for the implementation of SAMSARA project. Interested Nepalese citizens meeting the criterion are requested to apply for the positions within the 7 days from the publication of the vacancy notice. 

1.     SRH Rights Team Leader

Job Title: Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR) Team Leader  

Location: 33 Municipalities across Kapilvastu, Rupandehi and Nawalparashi West District.

Duration: 30 months

Job Summary: The SRH Rights Team Leader will be chiefly responsible for overseeing the implementation, management, tracking progress, and coordination of the SAMSARA project, and thereby, ensuring that the project achieves the set millstones within a stipulated time frame. While the ultimate goal of the Project is to vigorously advocate for the implementation of Safe Motherhood and Sexual Reproductive Health Rights 2018 in alliance and partnership with broad-based allies,   the immediate objective is to protect and promote women/adolescents’ SRH rights by working in a Rights-based approach aligned with Gender-transformative approach through awareness and empowerment of the rights-holders, building their capacities to enable them speak up for themselves, advocating for demand-led reform in SRH services delivered from existing health facilities, and ensuring access and quality delivery  of SRH services and entitlements. This role involves leading a team of professionals, collaborating with local governments, empowering, strengthening, and mobilizing Community-based Organizations such; Women’s Advocacy Forum, Girls’ Rights Network, Mother’s Groups, Youth Clubs, and tailoring evidence-informed advocacies and issue-based movements in pursuit of the set milestones, objectives and ultimate goal.   

Key Responsibilities:

Program Development and Implementation:

  • Design and implement SRH rights programs aligned with SAMSARA Project’ milestones, goal, and objectives. 
  • Conduct needs assessments and identify gaps in SRH services.
  • Develop strategic partnerships with local, national, and international organizations.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead, mentor, and supervise a diverse team of SRH rights professionals.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.

Advocacy and Policy Engagement:

  • Advocate for policy changes that support SRH rights at local, national, and international levels.
  • Engage with government bodies, NGOs, and community organizations to promote SRH rights.
  • Represent the organization at conferences, workshops, and public forums.

Capacity Building:

  • Facilitate workshops and discussions to enhance community awareness and engagement.

Monitoring and Evaluation:

  • Assist MEAL officer to develop monitoring and evaluation frameworks to assess program impact and effectiveness.
  • Analyze data and prepare reports to inform partners and stakeholders about program outcomes and challenges.

Budget Management:

  • Develop and manage the budget for SRH rights programs along with Finance Officer.
  • Ensure financial accountability and compliance with donor requirements.

Qualifications:

Education: Master’s degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, or a related field.

Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in SRH rights, program management, or related areas, with at least 1 year in a leadership role.

Skills and other undertakings:

  • Stay updated on global and local movements in SRH rights.
  • Support program initiatives and inform best practices.
  • Strong understanding of Safe Motherhood and Sexual & Reproductive Health Rights Act 2018.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and report writing.
  • Fluency in English, Nepali and moderate in Awadhi and Bhojpuri.

Working Conditions:

  • The position is based in KSSC-Nepal’s Office, requires frequent travels to project sites across all the three districts.  
  • Willing to work under pressure and in short notice in the event of exigencies.  

2.     District Project Coordinator (DPC) 

Job Title: District Project Coordinator  

Location: 10 Municipalities across Kapilvastu district

Duration: 30 months

Required No: 1 (ONE)

Job Summary: 

The DPC’s key responsibilities include, among others, coordinate with stakeholders (LGUs, Health Facilities, CSOs, Media) and engage with rights-holders (Women, Youth, Adolescents, and non-traditional allies), implement district-level activities aimed at SRH Rights protection, promotion, and design evidence-informed advocacy and SRH issue-based campaign events, lead them at the district level for effective implementation of SRH Rights Act 2018.   The overall responsibilities of DPC is to promote and protect sexual and reproductive health rights of women, adolescents in the district. This role involves coordinating and collaborating with local governments, health facilities, CSOs, and media.    

Key Responsibilities:

Program Planning and Implementation:

  • Develop and implement district-level strategies and action plans for SRH rights.
  • Collaborate with local government, health facilities, and CSOs to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Capacity Building:
  • Organize training sessions for health care providers and FCHVs on SRH rights and services.
  • Facilitate workshops and seminars to raise awareness about SRH issues in the community.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation:
  • Establish indicators and tools for monitoring the effectiveness of SRH programs.
  • Collect and analyze data to evaluate program outcomes and report findings to stakeholders.

Advocacy and Communication:

  • Engage with municipalities office bearer & duty bearer, policymakers, community leaders, and other stakeholders to advocate for SRH rights.
  • Develop informational materials to educate the community on SRH issues.

Community Engagement:

  • Foster partnerships with community organizations (Adolescent networks, Women Rights Forum, to enhance outreach and service delivery.
  • Organize community dialogues and focus groups to gather feedback on SRH services.

Reporting:

  • Prepare regular & periodic reports on program activities, challenges, and recommendations for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with donor requirements and organizational policies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Social Science, Gender Studies, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in program coordination or management, particularly in sexual and reproductive health.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of sexual and reproductive health rights and issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in data collection and analysis.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.

3.    Position Title: MEAL Officer 

Location: 33 municipalities across Kapilvastu, Rupandehi and Nawalparashi West district

Duration: 30 months

Job Summary:

Informed by SAMSARA Project’s Indicators and Milestones and based on Baseline survey report, ensure effective monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning of the SAMSARA project, generating knowledge, processing data, producing timely report as per the requirements of Amplify Change, UK, and to the job of report sharing and dissemination.    

Key Responsibilities:

Monitoring and Evaluation:

  • Design and implement monitoring frameworks and evaluation plans for SRH programs.
  • Develop tools and methodologies for data collection, ensuring alignment with SAMSARA project objectives.

Data Management and Analysis:

  • Collect, manage, and analyze quantitative and qualitative data to assess program performance.
  • Use data to inform program improvements and decision-making.

Reporting:

  • Prepare and disseminate regular reports on program outcomes, achievements, and challenges.
  • Ensure timely submission of reports to donors and stakeholders, adhering to reporting requirements.

Learning and Knowledge Sharing:

  • Facilitate learning sessions and workshops to share findings and best practices among staff and partners.
  • Document lessons learned and success stories & case studies to enhance program visibility and impact.

Accountability:

  • Establish mechanisms for stakeholder feedback and participation in program evaluation.
  • Ensure that the program adheres to ethical standards and accountability frameworks.

Capacity Building:

  • Provide training and support to staff and Board of Directors of KSSC Nepal on MEAL processes and data utilization.
  • Assist in developing a culture of learning within the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, Statistics, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in monitoring and evaluation, preferably in sexual and reproductive health.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of MEAL frameworks and methodologies.
  • Proficient in data analysis software 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Fluency in English and local language (Awadhi, Bhojpuri).
  • Stay updated on global and local trends in SRH rights.
  • Strong understanding of sexual and reproductive health rights policies 2018.
