Hami DajuVai is a feminist organization that engages men and boys in building a gender-just society. HDV aims to transform patriarchy into equality by integrating intersectionality ubiquitously through the engagement of men, boys, and young people, while promoting women’s leadership. The ultimate goal is to build a gender-just society. To foster an equal and prosperous society where all people enjoy their rights, opportunities, and live dignified lives, while addressing patriarchal masculinity and patriarchal structures through intersectional approaches.

HDV is anticipating a project which will be focused on women's security and justice where our role will be to work as a technical partner on the issue of Men's engagement and transforming patriarchal Masculinity to end violence against women and girls. The project expects the transformation on patriarchal masculinity and harmful social norms and behaviours from family to community. Role of HDV is to work as a technical lead on Men and boys' engagement and addressing harmful masculinity including on social norms and contribute on diffusion of its learning and impacts. Hence HDV is looking for the candidates for following positions. 

1. DESIGNATION – PROJECT MANAGER

Introduction to the Role

The person holding this role will lead our organization. The Project Manager will work in close collaboration with the partner organization and its provincial partners to support in the implementation of the project activities with a key focus on men and boys' engagement, dismantling and addressing patriarchal masculinity and diffusion of its learning and impact. The position holder expected to lead the team, document and prepare project reports including assess and research various initiatives happening around the world and in Nepal in relation to the project. Person will work as a project focal point on behalf of HDV to liaison with our partner and government agencies. Project Manager will also contribute in effective and timely implementation of the project activity and assurance of its quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical guidance to the team, provincial implementing partners and other project team members as technical lead on Men and Masculinity
  • Review, Assess, research on the work around Men and Masculinity, Social and Behaviour Change and Social Norms, analyse and share the learning and possibilities
  • Plan, implement, monitor, and report project activities aligned with project objectives and as per detailed implementation plan
  • Speed up quality project implementation, budget tracking and support provincial implementing partners and office team as when required
  • Assist in technical assessment and studies for knowledge creation, new project concept development and project quality monitoring
  • Coordinate and facilitate the internal and external visits (eg, government, office, donor, SWC etc)
  • Collaborate with Federal, Provincial and local governments
  • Guide and monitor staff team to ensure effective project implementation
  • Maintain good communication with all the partners and concerned stakeholders
  • Prepare timely project progress reports ensuring its quality 
  • Ensure mainstreaming of GEDSI in project implementation
  • Ensures that internal databases and monitoring information are kept fully up-to-date.
  • Any other tasks as assigned by the supervisor

Experience Required:

  • A master's degree in Social Science with 5 years or Bachelor degree with 7 years of professional working experience as project manager or project lead in the areas of Gender, Inclusion, Masculinity, MenEngagement with special focused on social and behaviour change and addressing harmful social norms
  • Experience of developing and organizing participatory training and workshops is required. 
  • Experience of supporting the development of projects, programmes, and campaigns
  • Having prior research skills would be an advantage.

Other skills

  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Nepali
  • Good understanding of the SBCC and social norms dynamics around gender and masculinity in cultural and social context is essential. An understanding of the international context would be advantage 
  • Excellent leadership, management and written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to work with a diverse range of actors from different cultural contexts in the country
  • Strong project management skills
  • Willingness to travel to the field stations
  • Person should have a 2-wheeler license

Duration: three-month probation period, contract will be till March 2025 with possible extension based on performance

2. DESIGNATION – ADMIN AND FINANCE MANAGER

Introduction to the Role

The person holding this role will lead the administration and finance department of the organization. The role will work in close coordination with project manager and project staff in ensuring the effective implementation of financial management systems and administrative procedures within the organization. The roles include key tasks i.e., overseeing financial operations, implementing internal controls, managing cash flow to projects, as well as ensuring timely and accurate reporting to donors as per their requirements and standards. The person will be in charge of administrative, financial, HR and logistic aspects of the project implementation. This role is responsible for maintaining the payments, procurement support, maintaining HR records and office administration including program support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Administrative, Financial and Accounting support to the organization
  • Accounting and reporting of projects as per the guidelines and format provided by the partner organization
  • Follow the organization and partner’s policies and guidelines to ensure compliance with all the requirements and necessary documents for financial transactions.
  • Prepare and maintain systematic documentation of admin and finance on a timely basis.
  • Prepare and submit monthly financial reports to the Project Manager and partner on a monthly basis.
  • Prepare budgets for the project as per the need. In addition to this, Prepare and forecast funds in coordination with the project manager/coordinator.
  • Communicate with the donor in coordination with the project manager and respond.
  • Provide support roles on the external audit, internal audit and facilitate project audits along with preparation of the relevant documents.
  • Update project-specific variance status and issues related to finances to the finance manager and project manager.
  • Coordinate with project stakeholders to streamline financial processes and address concerns or queries promptly.
  • Provide administrative support to project activities, including procurement, logistics, and coordination with external stakeholders, in alignment with project objectives and timelines.
  • Maintain project documentation, including contracts, agreements, and correspondence, ensuring accurate record-keeping and compliance with organizational and donor requirements.
  • Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard project funds, ensuring adherence to organizational policies and donor requirements.
  • Guide and assist project staff in adhering to donor regulations, financial reporting requirements, and documentation standards.
  • Efficiently manage project cash flow by forecasting funding requirements and maintaining adequate liquidity for project operations and payments.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including budget vs. actual analysis, expense reports, and cash forecasts, for submission to donors and management.
  • Support the external and internal auditors during audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations to ensure audit readiness and compliance.
  • Any other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Experience Required:

  • A Master degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration or other related fields with minimum 5 years or Bachelor degree with 7 years of professional working experience of working as finance and admin lead. 
  • Experienced having advanced Excel skills for financial analysis and reporting. (Preference will be given to the candidates having knowledge in Saralbooks software)
  • Good knowledge of taxation laws prevails in Nepal.
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering high quality reports on time.
  • Capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and high level of attention to details in all aspects of work responsibilities.
  • Strong people-cantered skills and proactive approach.

Other skills

  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Nepali.
  • Preference will be given to the person who has prior experience of working in the field of GESDI or Feminist organization.

3. DESIGNATION – COMMUNICATION AND DOCUMENTATION OFFICER

Introduction to the Role

The Communication and Documentation Officer will play a crucial role in documenting organizational activities, preparing project quality reports, managing communication channels, preparing monitoring tools and supporting the organization. Person will work closely with the project manager to document the progress and impact, prepare concept notes and proposals and share impact stories with concerned authorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for preparing and publishing organizational publications, books, magazines, reports etc 
  • Prepare and Design various communication materials/IEC Materials/Knowledge production materials (reports, success stories, infographs, posters, brochures, leaflets, pamphlets)
  • Develop and implement effective communication strategies to promote the organization's work and impact.
  • Generate content for reports, newsletters, and social media platforms.
  • Update and maintain the organization's website with current and relevant information.
  • Manage and update HDV's social media profiles, engage with the online community, and create content to increase our online presence.
  • Translate success stories and other contents from Nepali to English and vice versa.
  • Record and maintain database of projects, major achievements, and other activities carried out by HDV
  • Support programme staff in organizing and managing seminars, workshops, training, conferences, competitions etc. and prepare background notes, press releases, programme related progress reports and documents
  • Lead and manage the Men and Masculinities Resource Centre
  • Ensure mainstreaming of GEDSI in project implementation
  • Ensures that internal databases and monitoring information are kept fully up-to-date.
  • Any other tasks as assigned by the supervisor

Experience Required:

  • Bachelor degree completed in Mass-communication, journalism, media studies, Sociology, Social Science or in any other relevant fields with at least 3 years of professional experience. Preference will be given to those who has prior experience in working with Feminist or Gender Justice organization
  • Sound knowledge and skills of handling MS word, MS Excel, MS Power-point, Internet, email, social media with excellent typing skill with strong writing, editing and proof-reading expertise.
  • Prior knowledge of Men and Masculinities, Feminism, SBCC, Social Norms is preferred.
  • Skills of writing web content, news, reports, articles and documentation of good practices and achievements.
  • Knowledge of Graphics, Sound and Visual Editing (preferred).
  • Good Interpersonal and Communication Skills.
  • Proven knowledge on web and media accessibility (preferred).
  • Someone who has written and published number(s) of articles/contents both in English and Nepali medium (which may include but not limited to Reports, Proposals, News articles, Web contents, Video Scripts etc) in variety of mediums like Web, Newspaper, Magazines etc. (preferred)

Other skills

  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Nepali.
