VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
Janahit Nepal is a youth lead organization working in Sindhupalchok district. Janahit is implementing "Improved access to drinking water and agricultural support for the community of Yangri village in Nepal" and "Improving the livelihood of the farmers of Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality by strengthening the production of organic vegetables and access to drinking water in the district of Sindhupalchowk" with support from ASIA Onlus Nepal. To implement the projects, we are hiring competent staffs for the following positions.
1. Field Coordinator: 1
Responsibilities:
- Overall (technical and financial), management of project activities in project area in accordance to approved work plan and budget.
- Responsible for program activity implementation and management, coordination, communication and networking,
- Prepare annual, quarterly and monthly plans along with its effective implementation for execution of the project activities as stipulated in the project documents.
- Supervise, guide and mentor sub ordinates, produce event report as well as monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and annual reports maintaining district and field level database in line with project results and output indicators.
- Support, facilitate and capacitate in executing program activities institutionally and technically.
- Monitoring and supervision of the program,
- Implement the WASH and Livelihood program in the project area
- Take responsibility of financial and administrative management of the projects
- Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly and annual reports, technical progress reports, output/event based report and financial reports as required by agreement.
Required Qualifications and Experiences:
Qualification:
- Bachelor degree in social science, environment science, agriculture or any relevant field.
Experiences and others:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in WASH, Livelihood
- Have capacity and competency to lead the integrated project
- Trained and experienced on WASH programming, Livelihood
- Good facilitation and training delivery skill
- Have good team player skills
- Competency in computer-based reporting in English
- Priority will be given to the candidates who have working experience during the emergencies in Sindhupalchok.
2. Social Mobilizer (Junior Agriculture Technician)- 1
Responsibilities:
- Identify and select producer groups for agriculture
- Organize, formation and mobilization of farmer's groups for production of organic vegetable crops.
- Provide the farmers with technical skills and improved practices for adaption of project activities.
- Encourage farmers’ community for off-season vegetable farming
- Identify and select lead farmer for demonstration of off-seasonal vegetable cultivation in polyhouse
- Identify and select lead farmer
- Mobilize local technical human resource for timely and effective input and service delivery in the community
- Good organization and interpersonal skills, ability to build capacity of stakeholder
- Report to the program coordinator about program weekly, and monthly basis
- Work closely with government authorities in working areas
- Prior work experience in the field of livelihood
Required Qualification and experiences
Qualifications:
- Minimum TSLC in Agriculture or 3 years Diploma in Agriculture from CTEVT or I. Sc. Ag degree with minimum of 3 year experience in relevant field.
- Ability to live and travel with marginal logistic facilities in the remote villages
- Good interpersonal skills, adaptable and desire to learn;
3. Civil Engineer (WASH Expert) - 1
Responsibilities
- Take responsibility for carrying out all the construction related works, design, drawing, estimate of water supply scheme
- Delivering training for implementing community (water committees, construction and masons, operation and maintenance technicians).
- Supervise and assist in implementation of the activities and take appropriate measures to tackle operation problems affecting the implementation processes and quality of the intervention.
- Ensure that work is carried out in a way that is sensitive to the community needs and gender issues.
- Promote the full and equal participation of women in all aspect of the work.

- Support to form construction committee, water user committee
- Coordinate with Local Government
- To maintain record of attendance of labor,
- Act as focal person in community to ensure assessment; design, proposals, implementation, monitoring and evaluation meet the engineering norms and standards in every site.
- Coordinate with stakeholder to ensure quality in work
- Support to collect the data, develop clear specifications, bill of quantities, request orders,
Required Qualifications and Experiences
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering with having experience working in development sector
Experiences and others
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in building construction & humanitarian/development field
- Team-working skills.
- Good written and spoken English and Nepali
- Willing to stay in remote areas
Salary and benefits are as per institutional norms
