Association of Youth Organizations Nepal (AYON), established in 2005, aims to bring youth organizations together to provide a common platform for collaboration, cooperation, joint actions and collective endeavors between youth organizations in Nepal. AYON is a national network of non-government, non-religious, not-for-profit youth organizations in Nepal. It acts as an umbrella organization of youth organizations. It calls for coordination, network, support and cooperation from the government, non-government, business institutions, civil society and young people for collaborative actions for youth programs and policies.
USAID Adolescent Reproductive Health (ARH) is an adolescent co-led initiative to empower girls and boys, 10-19 years including the most marginalized, to attain their adolescent reproductive health (ARH) rights. The goal of the program is to support adolescents to reach their full potential by; ensuring they receive correct and appropriate reproductive health (RH) information and guidance to decision-making skills, creating an environment conductive in making healthy reproductive health decisions and facilitating translation of these decisions into healthy behaviors.
AYON announces vacancy for the following positions to be a part of USAID Adolescent Reproductive Health (ARH):
Project: USAID Adolescent Reproductive Health
1. Position: Resource Person for Youth Mobilization
Vacancy: 3 personnel at the Municipality level

Workstation: Project Location
Duration: up to 1 year and possibility of extension depending on performance
Minimum Academic Qualification and working experience
- +2 in Health, Diploma in Nursing/ Health Science, Social Sciences or in relevant field with minimum 1 year work experience working with youth clubs for youth development and public health at local level.
Roles and responsibilities
- Work closely with local implementing partners, local government and stakeholders, youth networks and youth clubs for meaningful engagement/ participation of youth and adolescent at several platforms.
- Support youth clubs for active engagement, functionalization and support them to register at the local level.
- Manage the local level meeting, group discussion, orientation, formation, training/workshop for the activities as per the project objective in coordination with team and the stakeholders.
- Participate in regular project team meetings and other municipal level activities.
- Maintain accurate records and reports related to project activities.
- Frequent field visit as per need to project activities.
- Handle day-to-day operation-related USAID ARH project activities at municipal level.
- Promote Social Behavior Change (SBC) on ARH through youth engagement in the community.
- Other duties as required by the project or organization.
Specific Skills
- Experience in providing guidance to local youth clubs and groups at the local level.
- Knowledge of the health systems of Nepal including health governance.
- Experience in coordinating multiple interventions and locations.
- Strong knowledge about existing social norms around adolescent reproductive health and experiences in behavior change activities.
- Competent in reporting and documentation.
- Strong facilitation skills for meetings and training.
Remarks
- Local resident or prior experience working in respective municipalities and familiar with the local language will be an advantage.
2. Position: Youth Mobilization and Social Norms Officer
Vacancy: 1
Workstation: Sarlahi/ Rautahat District
Duration: up to 1 year and possibility of extension depending on performance
Minimum Academic Qualification and working experience
- Bachelor degree in Public Health, Health, Sociology or in relevant field with minimum 2 years of experiences in Adolescent Reproductive Health, community mobilization or youth engagement activities
Roles and responsibilities
- Works closely with local implementing partners and municipalities to coordinate for the youth engagement activities for ARH at districts and municipalities.
- Coordinate with Education, Health, Women and Child Development section, Youth and Sports focal person and relevant sections / units of municipalities while implementing project activities and provide necessary technical support.
- Coordinate with the Member Organizations of AYON existing in working district or municipalities for their active engagement and leveraging of technical expertise and resources for empowerment of youth and adolescent at communities.
- Coordinate with youth council/network for development, endorsement and implementation of Youth Policy at local level.
- Coordinate with schools, SMC, AFHS Coordination Committee for effective linkage among the health facilities, communities, youths and adolescents.
- Responsible to provide technical oversight to Resource Persons for Youth/ Adolescent Engagement activities based in the community.
- Engage and support in preparation of monthly action plan and annual implementation plan in close coordination with the project team.
- Implement youth engagement activities as per Detailed Implementation Guideline in close coordination with district/municipality team.
- Ensure youth engagement in any of the forums and align them with Social Behavior Change (SBC).
- Identify, capacitate and mobilize Youth Champions in the municipalities for the advocacy of adolescent and youth issues and demand for action in relation to Family Planning and Reproductive Health.
- Documentation of best practices, success/case stories, innovations and project impacts on a timely manner.
- Monitor and ensure youth engagement activities and group interventions for quality implementation and documentation of project activities.
- Other duties as required by the project or organization.
Specific skills
- Knowledge and experience on ARH, health system of Nepal especially at local level
- Prior experiences with youth led organization for youth engagement activities
- Strong facilitation skills for training, meeting and orientations
- Experience in providing guidance to local youth clubs and groups at local level in regard to organizational development
- Experiences in organizing conference and policy dialogue at different levels for policy changes
- Strong knowledge and experience working on existing social norms around adolescent reproductive health and experiences in behavior change activities.
- Having two-wheeler license
3. Position: Admin Finance Officer
Vacancy: 1
Workstation: Madhesh Province office, Janakpurdham
Duration: up to 1 year and possibility of extension depending on performance
Minimum Academic Qualification and working experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Studies or in relevant field
- Minimum 2 years of experience in independently handling budgeting, financial accounting, planning and analysis
Roles and responsibilities
- Lead the financial transaction of project at province/ local level including administrative and procurement management.
- Ensure all the financial transaction are conducted in accordance to the policy and project compliance.
- Collect, review the hard copy financial supporting documents from all project districts in Madhesh Province and prepare the expenses summary reports including original bills, payment/ receipt vouchers and complete set of supporting documents of financial transactions.
- Support to Youth Mobilization Specialist (YMS) and Youth Mobilization and Social Norms Officers in activity budget planning/documentation.
- Collect advance request, review and ensure that the requests are in line with approved budget.
- Ensure all vehicle and assets are in proper working condition. Check vehicle log-book and use of assets in proper manner.
- Collect and document monthly timesheet of staffs and forward to AYON central office Kathmandu.
- Support in procurement procedure: Review purchase requisitions, prepare RFQ, collect quotations, prepare comparison sheet and forward to procurement team.
- Support in logistic management of planned activities at province and districts level when required.
- Prepare vendor listing/searching: hotels, stationery, printing, maintenance, vehicle hire etc.
- Prepare field monitoring plan and visit to project districts for financial monitoring and support.
- Other duties as required by the project or organization.
4. Position: HR and Admin Officer
Vacancy: 1
Workstation: Central Office Kathmandu with periodic field visits to Madhesh Province, Karnali Province and Lumbini Province
Duration: up to 1 year and possibility of extension depending on performance
Minimum Academic Qualification and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Management or or in relevant field with minimum 2 years of working experience
Roles and responsibilities
- Providing support in the various human resources and functions, which include recruitment, monitor and map the engagement of staffs in the project and facilitate staffs/ management training and development.
- Planning the overall HR strategy and assist in creating and implementing HR policies and procedures.
- Support to Finance Team/ Management in overall day-to-day HR and administrative activities related to projects.
- Provide necessary support in logistic, financial and administrative management to project team to smooth operation of project activities.
- Responsible for day-to-day financial and administration transactions including document collection from district/ vendor, stock book update, assets management, timely payment of office utilities expenses, bank transaction, repair and maintenance.
- Overall HR management of projects/ organization including but not limited to collect timesheet collection/ verification and filing, insurance claim documentation, leave record, employee contract preparation/renewal, performance appraisal etc.
- Ensure timely payment of salary, SSF, tax, telephone and internet charge, rent, electricity and other liabilities of projects/organization.
- Procurement management: Collect PR, Prepare RFQ, Quotation collection, comparison sheet preparation, PO issue, invoice collection, stock maintenance, utility payment.
- Petty cash management of AYON core fund/ projects.
- Supervise to Office Runner/ Helper and Associate level staffs and reports to Finance team
- Other duties as required by the project or organization.
Specific skills
- Have sound knowledge about hiring analytics
- Knowledge in performance management and employee evaluation
- Excellent knowledge of various HR functions such as pay & benefits, recruitment, onboarding, evaluation, training & development etc.
- Good understanding of labor laws
- Outstanding organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in MS Office
5. Position: IT Officer
Vacancy: 1
Workstation: Central Office Kathmandu
Duration: up to 1 year and possibility of extension depending on performance
Minimum Academic Qualification and working experience
- Bachelor's Degree in IT or in relevant field with minimum 2 years of working experience
Roles and responsibilities
- Prepare and manage the overall information, technology plan and digital systems of organization.
- Ensure the proper management of official website and online official platforms.
- Manage information technology and computer systems; Plan, organize, control and evaluate IT and electronic data operations.
- Ensure security of data, network access and backup systems.
- Identify problematic areas related to IT and implement strategic solutions in time.
- Prepare and implement data management system and ensure the proper functionality of the electronic devices being used in the office.
- Design and develop the promotional content for the official online platforms.
- Other duties as required by the project or organization.
Specific skills
- Have technical skills as a successful IT officer
- Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and of computer hardware/software systems
- Expertise in data center management and data governance
- Hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration and network installation
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office; especially Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
