About the Organization:
Centre for Disaster Management Studies (CDMS) was established in 2007 by a group of professional women dedicated towards creating disaster resilient communities in Nepal. CDMS aims at building disaster resilient communities through empowering women and youth. It covers a wide range of programs and activities that addresses all types of hazards, and all aspects of the disaster risk management spectrum- from prevention and mitigation, through preparedness and response, to recovery, rehabilitation and reconstruction, including climate change mitigation and adaptation, natural resource management and contemporary socio- economic issues.
1. “Program Manager” in Centre for Disaster Management Studies (CDMS)
Duty Station: Kathmandu
Possible Start Date: 18th April 2025
Detailed Job Description/Requirements:
CDMS invites applications from eligible and qualified Nepali citizens, under 40 years, who are committed and have the ability to deliver results with the highest integrity for the position of Program Manager (CC/DRR Background).
The Program Manager will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and managing programs that addresses climate resilience, disaster preparedness, and risk education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and oversee DRR and climate change (CC) programs, ensuring alignment with national policies and international frameworks.
- Writing funding applications, winning proposals and quality reports of respective projects.
- Organization management, overseeing day to day operation, staff management, financial planning, fund raising, and resource mobilization.
- Ensure that projects integrates cross-cutting issues (gender, social inclusion, and disability rights) inline to CMDS GESI strategy.
- Ensure project activities are effectively executed, monitored, and evaluated timely.
- Monitor and track the program budget expenditures to avoid over or under budgeting.
- Work closely with government agencies, CSOs, donors, and partner organizations to align CDMS program objectives with national and international commitments.
- Represent the organization in national and international DRR and CC platforms and explore possible collaboration scopes.
- Promote women’s leadership in humanitarian actions and ensure inclusive participation of marginalized groups, including persons with disabilities (PWDs).
- Establish partnerships and coordinate with I/NGOs and establish networking and collaboration opportunities for joint project development, joint event organization and for enhancing program impact.
- Manage grants, donor relation policy, research, advocacy, networking (internal and external linkage and coordination), and coordination efforts CDMS institutional enhancement.
- Ensure CDMS programs are financially viable and adhere to CDMS budgetary guidelines.
- Manage and mobilize diverse project teams for effective implementation.
- Work closely under the supervision and guidance of the CDMS executive board.
2. “Admin and Finance Officer (Part Time)” in Centre for Disaster Management Studies (CDMS)
Duty Station: Kathmandu
Possible Start Date: 12th April 2025
Detailed Job Description/Requirements:
CDMS invites applications from eligible and qualified Nepali citizens, under 40 years, who are committed and have the ability to deliver results with the highest integrity for the position of Admin and Finance Officer (Part Time). The AFO will play a crucial role in office operation, financial reporting, tracking, monitoring and budget preparation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate financial records, prepare budgets, financial reports, and donor reports.
- Manage cash flow, disbursements, and reconciliations of accounts.
- Prepare audit documents and coordinate with external/internal auditors.
- Must be skilled on FAMAS accounting software.
- Oversee procurement of goods and services, ensuring transparency and adherence to procurement policies.
- Maintain inventory records of office assets, equipment, and supplies.
- Handle staff contracts, payroll processing, tax deductions, and social security contributions
- Handle petty cash and settlements
- Perform other financial task as required
