Association of Youth Organizations Nepal (AYON), established in 2005, aims to bring youth organizations together to provide a common platform for collaboration, cooperation, joint actions and collective endeavors between youth organizations in Nepal. AYON is a national network of non-government, non-religious, not-for-profit youth organizations in Nepal. It acts as an umbrella organization of youth organizations. It calls for coordination, network, support and cooperation from the government, non-government, business institutions, civil society and young people for collaborative actions for youth programs and policies. USAID Adolescent Reproductive Health (ARH) is an adolescent co-led initiative to empower girls and boys, 10-19 years including the most marginalized, to attain their adolescent reproductive health (ARH) rights. The goal of the program is to support adolescents to reach their full potential by; ensuring they receive correct and appropriate reproductive health (RH) information and guidance to decision-making skills, creating an environment conductive in making healthy reproductive health decisions and facilitating translation of these decisions into healthy behaviors.

AYON announces vacancies for the following positions to be a part of USAID Adolescent Reproductive Health (ARH):

Project: USAID Adolescent Reproductive Health

Position: Resource Person for Youth Mobilization

Vacancy: 1 (District of Madhesh Province: Mahottari/ Based in Municipality)

Workstation: Working Municipality

Duration: up to 1 year and possibility of extension depending on performance

Minimum Academic Qualification and working experience
  • +2 in Health or Diploma in Nursing/ Health Science or Social Sciences with experience working with youth clubs, youth development, and public health with one year work experience working with local government at municipality.
Roles and responsibilities
  • Work closely with local implementing partners and municipalities to assess form and engage local youth groups at the municipal level
  • Responsible to provide technical assistance to existing and newly formed youth groups to register at the local level
  • Promote social behavior change (SBC) on ARH through youth engagement in the community
Specific Skills
  • Experience in providing guidance to local youth clubs and groups at the local level
  • Organize and deliver training, orientation for adolescent groups, youth club members on effective youth engagement strategies
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to youth groups and individuals to develop leadership and life skills
  • Advocate for policies and resources that support youth development and participation
  • Build relationships with local schools, community organizations and other relevant stakeholders to promote youth programs.
  • Organize campaign, community events that encourage youth participation and raise awareness of their contribution.
  • Knowledge of the health systems of Nepal including health governance.
  • Strong knowledge about existing social norms around adolescent reproductive health and experiences in behavior change activities
  • Competent in report writing and documentation
Remarks
  • Local resident or prior experience working in respective municipalities and familiar with the local language will be an advantage.

Position: HR and Admin Officer

Vacancy: 1

Workstation: Central Office Kathmandu with periodic field visits to Madhesh Province, Karnali Province and Lumbini Province

Duration: up to 1 year and possibility of extension depending on performance

Minimum Academic Qualification and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Management or relevant area with at least 2 years of working experience
Roles and responsibilities
  • Providing support in the various human resources and functions, which include recruitment, staffing and training and development
  • Planning the overall HR strategy and assist in creating and implementing HR policies and procedures 
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records including staff personal file as per organization policy and update on timely manner.
  • Monitor and map the engagement of staffs in the project
  • Ensure that all HR documentation is in line with organization policies, labor laws and donor compliance
  • Plan, coordinate, and conduct training and development programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge
  • Support to admin and finance team to smooth operation of daily financial and administrative activities of projects/ organization
Specific skills
  • Have sound knowledge about hiring analytics
  • Knowledge in performance management and employee evaluation
  • Excellent knowledge of various HR functions such as pay & benefits, re-cruitment, onboarding, evaluation, training & development etc. 
  • Good understanding of labor laws
  • Outstanding organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in MS Office

Position: IT Officer

Vacancy: 1

Workstation: Central Office Kathmandu

Duration: up to 1 year and possibility of extension depending on performance

Minimum Academic Qualification and working experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in IT related field with 2 years of working experiences preferably in non-profit organizations
Roles and responsibilities
  • Ensure the proper management of official website and online official platforms
  • Prepare and implement data management system and ensure the proper functionality of the electronic devices being used in the office
  • Design and develop the promotional content for the official online platforms
  • Ensure security of data, network access and backup systems
Specific skills
  • Have technical skills as a successful IT officer
  • Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and of computer hardware/software systems
  • Expertise in data center management and data governance
  • Hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration and network installation
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office; especially Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
