Term of Reference (TOR) for Training Facilitation

Location: Social Organization District Coordination Committee, Parsa Madhesh Province

No. of Position: One (local candidate preferred) 

Training Schedule: January 27-31, 2025 

Target participants: Girl Champions (18-24 yrs)

Background: 

The training is part of the Global Girls Creating Change (G2C2) project, which aims to develop skills related to climate, advocacy, activism, and income generation through green initiatives for girls and young women. The G2C2 has been implemented in four countries- Brazil, Indonesia, Nepal, and Uganda. The objective of the G2C2 is to promote and ramp up a diversified girl and women-led climate action movement, with the end goal of empowering them to lead, shape, and share equitable and inclusive climate policies and actions.

Purpose of the training:

  • Identify and understand the concepts of the climate, gender, advocacy, and political incidence agenda, with a focus on climate advocacy and community-based income generation through green initiatives.
  • Promoting critical thinking on interactions between climate change and the political, social, and economic realms; as well as other skills linked to leadership, empowerment, and the emancipation of both girls and women, including considerations on their role as transformation agenda, and, finally, skills to help them nurture a sense of belonging to their communities.

Competencies, skills, and experience requirements:

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in social science or other relevant field.
  • At least 3 years’ experience of facilitation training.
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and Nepali. Candidates with local language will be preferred.
  • Ability to work independently. 
  • Cultural understanding of social norms and local context of gender and climate change in Madhesh province.
  • Experiencing in facilitating training on green skills and green entrepreneurship.
  • Experiencing in facilitating training for young girls and women.
