Organization Background:

iDE is an international NGO with over 40 years of experience in designing and delivering market-based anti-poverty programs in 10 countries. We are a world leader in making markets work for the poor as well as the longest-established market development specialist NGO in Nepal. iDE believes that markets can be a powerful force for improving smallholder prosperity by creating income and livelihood opportunities for poor rural households.  iDE has worked in Nepal since 1992. From micro-irrigation and good-quality seeds to, more recently, Integrated Pest Management (IPM), and rural collection centers where farmers can sell their produce. iDE provides simple innovations that help rural communities to prosper and adapt to climate change.

Project Background:

iDE is implementing an action research “ AgriPath - Empowering smallholder farmers’ transition to sustainable agriculture through effective and efficient digital pathways” project in Nepal to identify levers for enhancing DAS adoption, with specific attention to social norms (such as gender roles, decision-making power, and other household dynamics), the role of communities and agricultural extension agents test the Farm Better app and provide tailor-made advice on sustainable agriculture to smallholder farmers and agricultural extension agents and also compare benefits of agent-based, self-service, and hybrid DAS models for users’ livelihoods, as well as provide practical guidance on the uptake of DAS and related adoption of sustainable agricultural practices by male and female smallholders.

1. Scope of Work:

Under the supervision of the iDE Nepal team, the Service Provider will create high-quality videos lasting 1-2 minutes each, featuring farm better model’s installation and operation and use. The service project will create two different videos of three different farm better mobile application ( Self service model, extension agent model ) 

• The overall message of the videos should highlight
• Feature Agripath and Farmbetter application ( 2D animated )  
• Feature stepwise process ( from application download to use )of using Farmbetter mobile app ( Self service model, extension agent model)

2. Deliverables/Output:

• Submit a storyboard and script for the documentary to iDE for approval before making videos and filming.
• Capturing footage of farmer and extension agents using farmbetter applications, farmers practicing sustainable land management practices
• Present draft video with English subtitles to iDE’s project team and incorporate comments.
• Present a complete video with English subtitles and hand over master copies of each version to iDE.
• Provide high resolution project photographs with captions ( minimum of 20 from the project district).

Skills/Requirements:

• At least three years of experience working in a similar field.
• Extensive experience in producing development work-related documents and/or documentaries for international organizations to reach both local and international audiences.
• Experience working with development organizations.
• Excellent photographic and video editing skills and experience.
• Company/organization profile, showcasing relevant experience in documentary production and agricultural/environmental projects (If applicable).
• Team composition and roles of key personnel who will be involved in the project.
• Samples of previous documentary work (if applicable).

• A brief technical proposal including : 
  • Firm profile outlining the relevant experience along with the clientele reference.
  • An understanding of TOR, proposed methodology to accomplish the deliverable with tentative work and timeline, 
  • Updated CV of the team members highlighting the relevant competency and professional experience as deemed by the TOR.
• Detailed financial proposal for the assignment. The financial proposal must include service fees as well as all other associated costs required for the completion of the assignment.
• Legal Registration and renewal documents. (Tax clearance certificate of latest year)

Note: Technical and financial proposals must be provided separately. Failure to provide the above documents or incomplete applications will not be considered.
