To develop content/schedule and PowerPoint presentations of ‘adolescents sexual and reproductive health and rights sessions for Haripur Municipality – 2081

Background: 

The Rural Women Upliftment Association (RWUA), Haripur Sarlahi, is a non-governmental, on- profit, and non-political organization that was founded in November 7, 1993 AD) with the intention of bringing about social reform in the Sarahi district. It is registered with District Administrative Office (DA)-Sarlahi district and is affiliated with the Social Welfare Council (SWC). It's a renowned organization run by women. It has collaborated with the government and INGOs ever since it was founded. Through the social mobilization of women and underprivileged community members, integrated development Programmes are implemented, bringing these individuals into the mainstream of development. The group has worked with over 20 NGOs, INGOs, CBOs, and governmental organizations. Its highly skilled and qualified workforce can produce positive and productive outcomes for the community.

The organization collaborates with important child rights stakeholders, such as kids, families, civil society organizations, the media, and the government, to give them more power to advance children's rights. It searches for long-term fixes that will enhance health care and education systems, assist communities in better preparedness for and response to emergencies, and benefit children and their communities. Funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) the CSOs Capacity Strengthening Program aims to enhance the capacity of child agency & child participation through the strengthening of civic spaces and addressing existing inequality and discrimination based on gender, caste/ethnicity, religion, age, disability, geography, economic status, climate crisis and more. It is focused on strengthening child rights governance and child protection measures addresses capacity gap of the civil society organizations for making their policies plans, programs, and infrastructures more inclusive and equitable for children. RWUA has been partnering with Save the Children since 2022 in this CSO strengthening project. The project is being implement in Ishworpur and Haripur municipality of Sarlahi districts. 

In this regard, aiming to promote and strengthen awareness of adolescents’ sexual and reproductive health and rights (ASRH), the project is providing technical and financial assistant to Haripur municipality to develop a comprehensive sessions manual on ASRH as per request by the Palika. The session guidelines will be published and shared in a wide range which can be used by both professional health workers and non-professional individuals having TOT on it. 

It announces the call of Expression of Interest (EOI) from experienced and qualified expert to prepare and develop adolescents sexual and reproductive health and rights Session for Haripur Municipality, Sarlahi – 2081.

The Overall purpose of this assignment: 

  • The overall purpose of this assignment is to develop session content/schedules and PPT of each session considering the time allocated in the guideline document. This resource material will be useful for the palika to roll out ASRHR sessions providing TOT to the facilitators having or not having health background. It provides sufficient information on the set sessions while the facilitators can add needed information during the sessions. 

Scope of the work 

  1. Review and analyze relevant resource materials on ASRHR and  develop the sessions content of each session and  PPT 
  2. Include feedback from the palika while developing the content/schedule  
  3. Prepare the PPT as per the same heading and sub heading of each sessions
  4. Incorporate feedback received in the draft guideline by palika and organizations
  5. Content/schedule should cover all the given headings and sub-headings in the sessions guidelines as:  
    • Adolescents and adolescent age 
    • Adolescents sexual and reproductive health and rights 
    • Menstruation and menstrual hygiene management 
    • Family planning contraceptive related counselling service 
    • Safe abortion, maternal and new born care 
    • Sexually transmitted diseases and the ways of preventing them 
    • Child marriage and its negative effects and prevention of child marriage 

Deliverables: 

  • The consultant will deliver a content/schedule and PPT of each sessions given in the guidelines incorporating full information suit for adolescents 

Timelines: 

  • The draft content/schedule and PPT will be submitted by the consultant within 10 working days. However, the consultant will address the received feedback shortly after sharing the guideline.  

Methodology 

  • The consultant will review the relevant policy documents related to ASRHR, take reference of previously published relevant documents by gov/non-government organizations and prepare comprehensive resource materials. 

Required qualification and expertise of consultant: 

  • Masters/PHD in Public Health specializing SRH 
  • Experienced in making health policy documents, resource materials, contents, etc.  
  • Public health research 
  • Writing and publishing research/articles related to ASRHR

Payment method and schedule 

  • The payment for this service will be made through bank Cheque as per contract. 
  • 100% payment will be made upon submitting the final draft on behalf of the consultant. However, the consultant will address the feedback provided by the palika shortly received after submitting the draft.
