1. Background
Childaid Network is a German-based foundation established in 2007 to provide educational opportunities for disadvantaged children and youths in South Asia, particularly in Nepal, India, Bangladesh, and Myanmar. With a strong reputation for effective partnerships and impactful programs, Childaid Network focuses on quality education, vocational training, and child development.
Since officially registering as an International Non-Governmental Organization (INGO) in Nepal in 2021, Childaid Network has expanded its activities across various districts. The Nepal team works in close coordination with the German HQ to implement strategic objectives with carefully selected local partners tailored to the local context, ensuring sustainable and relevant projects on the ground. The team presently consists of nine dedicated Nepali staff, whose combined experience and fresh perspectives drive the organization’s growth.
To support the growing demands and objectives, Childaid Network seeks a Programme Coordinator to lead, strategize, implement and strengthen stakeholder collaboration.
2. Purpose
The Programme Coordinator plays a key role in:
- Supporting and strengthening project implementation with local partners.
- Optimizing internal processes to improve efficiency and programme impact.
- Developing new partnerships to expand the local project portfolio.
- Ensuring quality in education, vocational training, and child rights initiatives.
- Coordinating with the Social Welfare Council (SWC) for project approvals.
- Liaising with the German HQ and supporting donor relations.
3. Responsibilities
Project Implementation & Partner Support
- Work closely with the Childaid Network project coordinators and local partners to ensure effective project execution.
- Provide capacity-building and technical support in facilitation, project coordination, monitoring and evaluation as well as impact measurement.
Programme Expansion & Partnerships
- Maintain good relationships with senior management of project partners.
- Identify and engage new partner organizations.
- Develop and refine project concepts for sustainable and impactful expansion.
Coordination with SWC & Authorities
- Manage project approval and compliance processes for SWC and other Nepali Ministries.
- Maintain strong relationships with government stakeholders.
Donor & HQ Coordination
- Support international donor visits and ensure professional engagement.
- Report on project progress and impact to the German HQ.
- Contribute to funding proposals and donor reporting.
4. Requirements
- Degree in development studies, education, social sciences, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in project management and partner coordination (preferably in the education sector).
- Strong background in capacity-building and programme development.
- Experience working with INGO administration and SWC processes.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Nepali (German is a plus).
- Strategic thinker with a proactive, hands-on approach.
5. Reporting & Location
- Reports to Country Director Nepal and coordinates with German HQ.
- Based in Kathmandu, Nepal, with regular travel to project locations.
