Rural Development Centre (RDC) Nepal is a non-political and non-profitable organization established in June 2002 with its head office in Rautahat District of Nepal. Since then, RDC is heavily engaged in humanitarian assistance, community development, conservation of natural resources, and environmental protection mainly in the Terai region of Nepal through the dozens of humanitarian and long-term development projects reaching out to the children, adolescent, youth, women, landless, urban poor, and people living with disabilities, HIV & AIDS patients, conflict and disaster survivors from the poor families of historically marginalized Dalits, Muslims, Madhesi and Indigenous communities and other underprivileged groups. Throughout its journey, it has been recognized by the Government of Nepal, Donor Communities, UN Agencies, many International Relief and Development Agencies for its achievements in transforming the society, for its good governance, inclusive operating structure, result oriented development interventions and humanitarian assistance, which RDC considers its greatest strength to take the lead in the sector across the country.

1. Background

Rural Development Centre (RDC) Nepal is a non-political and non-profitable organization established in June 2002 with its head office in Rautahat District of Nepal. RDC Nepal has been implementing Reducing Child Labor project in Gujara Municipality with objective to protect and promote child rights by strengthening child rights governance and mechanisms through the collective engagement of communities, CBOs/CSOs and local authorities in Gujara Municipality of Rautahat District with Support of Kindernothilfe Germany. Furthermore, Chhori Organization has been implementing Children’s Our Pride Project in Chandrapur Municipality. These projects aims to engage with parents, children engaged in child labor, adolescents along with Local Government and key stakeholders. The training is planned to organized in joint presence of both organizations project staffs.

2. The purpose and objective of the consultancy 

The main purpose of this Comprehensive package of training on Child Protection are:

  • Positive Parenting Education
  • Rupantaran Models
  • Child Rights Violations (Specially Child Labor and Child Marriages)

3. Scope of work

The scope of the work is as follows:

  • Consultant will be responsible for organizing 5 days training on the above mentioned topics.
  • Consultant will be responsible to train 15-20 participants with various group works and strategy to implement learnings at community level.

4. Methodology

  • Lectures and presentations.
  • Hands-on practice sessions. 
  • Group discussions and scenario-based exercises.

5. Timeline

The proposed duration of the training second week of February 2025. Candidates / Agency should apply before 21st January 2025 by 4:00 PM in Chandrapur Office or via below mentioned email. Training is expected to be held in 2nd week of February 2025.

6. Qualification and Experience Required

The consultant can be an organization or individual meeting the following criteria: 

  • At least 5 years’ experience in child protection.
  • Proven expertise and TOT training on the given topic.

7. Documents Required

  • Consultant should provide registered certificates (in terms of registered consultancy), citizenship, Updated CV, PAN and other relevant documents.
  • Consultant should provide proposal and proposed budget in attached RFQ. 
  • The expert must submit the document of past association in conducting similar assignment.

8. Payment Mode and Schedule

  • The payment for this service will be made through bank Cheque as per contract. 
  • 100% payment will be made upon submitting the final draft report.
