1. Context and Background

Habitat for Humanity International Nepal (Habitat Nepal) is an international non-governmental organization that is driven by the vision that everyone deserves a decent place to live. In Nepal, we address housing needs of low-income families through our partnership with homeowners, duty bearers, civil society, financial institutions, academia and relevant stakeholders.  The organization serves families and communities that are at the bottom of the pyramid, by promoting greener, affordable and disaster resilient solutions and technologies for safe housing construction, advocating for land tenure security and joint land titles, and empowering communities at the risk of climate related disasters to apply local knowledge and practices for nature-based solutions. Through decent and adequate housing, we support families build strength, stability, and self-reliance.

In our daily operations, knowing how to respond to medical emergencies is very important for keeping ourselves and others safe. First aid training teaches people the basic skills they need to help during emergencies, from treating minor injuries to saving lives. As workplaces and communities focus more on safety, it's clear that everyone should have this knowledge. This training not only helps individuals feel more confident but also creates a safer environment for everyone. Overall, being prepared can lead to better health outcomes and less risk in emergency situations.

2. Scope of Work:

2.1 Objectives:

The primary objectives of the first aid training program are to equip participants with the essential skills and knowledge needed to effectively respond to medical emergencies. By the end of the training, participants should be able to confidently assess emergency situations and provide appropriate care.

  • Teach participants basic first aid techniques, including CPR and how to treat common injuries.
  • Prepare participants to assess situations quickly and respond effectively under pressure.

2.2 Methodology: 

The training will take the form of presentations, interactive sessions, question, and answer sessions with demonstration on first aid practices in emergency situations that will cover the following but not limited to: 

  • Handling and moving patient. 
  • Poisoning/Bites. 
  • CPR and Basic Life Support. 
  • Burn/Injuries. 
  • Muscle and Bone Injuries. 
  • Identification and use of First Aid materials. 

2.3 Expected Result 

Staff are equipped to attend to emergency situations and know what to do in such emergency situations

The training will take place for Habitat for Humanity staff at the respective Habitat Nepal central and field offices.

4. Qualification and Requirements  

  • Registered institution offering first aid training.  
  • Minimum of two qualified trainers in first aid training. 
  • A minimum of three years’ experience in conducting similar training. 

5. Evaluation Process and Methods

Bidders are required to submit both Technical and Financial proposals. The evaluation criteria are outlined below and will be scored with a ratio of 70:30 (technical to financial). The total score for both technical and commercial proposals will equal 100 points.

6. Payments:

Full payment will be made upon the completion of the entire training exercise.

7. Ethical Protocols

Throughout the assignment engagements, the service providers are expected to adhere to Habitat Nepal’s code of conduct including the safeguarding policy ensuring that all measures are taken to protect the rights, safety, and welfare of the individuals and communities involved.

The service provider should guarantee that the analysis is technically accurate and reliable and is conducted in a transparent and impartial manner. All products resulting from this analysis will be owned by Habitat. The service provider will not be allowed, without prior authorization in writing, to present any of the results or use any product resulting from the analysis as his or her own or for private publication purposes.

8. Requirements: Interested companies are requested to submit

  • A copy of company registration certificate.
  • A copy of the latest tax clearance certificate.
  • PAN/VAT registration document and the number.
  • Copies of Curriculum Vitae (CV) of the key team members
  • Technical and financial proposal

9. Confidentiality

Confidentiality of Information: All documents and data collected will be treated as confidential and used solely to facilitate analysis.

Interested and qualified companies should submit their technical and financial proposal at procurement@habitatnepal.org with subject “First Aid Training Proposal”.

Application deadline: 20 October 2024 

Proposals not meeting this requirement will not be considered.
