Background
Deutsche Welthungerhilfe e.V. is one of the largest Non-Governmental Organizations in Germany operating in the field of Humanitarian Assistance and Development. It was established in 1962, as the German section of the “Freedom from Hunger Campaign”, one of the world’s first initiatives aimed at the eradication of hunger. Welthungerhilfe’s work is still dedicated to the following vision: all people have the right to a self-determined life in dignity and justice, free from hunger and poverty.
Welthungerhilfe (WHH) has been operational in Nepal since 2012, and currently managing different projects in eleven districts under seven thematic areas (sectors): Humanitarian Actions, Agriculture, Climate Reliance and Natural Resource Management, Nutrition & Health, WASH, Economic Development, Civil Society Empowerment and ICT4D. WHH works hand in hand with civil society in Nepal to empower socially marginalized and economically poor citizens to reinforce their resilience and to ensure their right to adequate food and nutrition.
Under the Economic Development theme, WHH supports project participants in improving their skills, support in enterprise development, and livelihoods improvement. To ensure effective entrepreneurship training for participants, WHH plans to enhance the capacity of both its staff and local partner organizations through an entrepreneurship capacity development program.
Objective
The primary objective of the training is to strengthen the entrepreneurial competencies of both partner organization staff and WHH staff. The training aims to equip participants with practical knowledge and skills in facilitating entrepreneurship development, guiding business plan development, and supporting project participants in understanding key business concepts, such as market analysis, marketing strategies, and essential considerations for starting a new business.
By the end of the training, participants will be able to:
- Gain the knowledge and skills required to conduct and facilitate entrepreneurship training at community level.
- Able to prepare detailed business plans including costing for single and multiple products, to guide entrepreneurs in their venture.
- Motivate and support potential entrepreneurs in starting enterprises and effectively marketing their product.
- Equip the training participants with the necessary training and counseling skills to better support to the local entrepreneurs and enhance their business capabilities.
Venue: Preferred location Kapilbastu (If venue is not available then Kathmandu)
Methodology:
There are 4 modules in SIYB training, but this training will cover only TOPE (Training of Potential Entrepreneur) and TOSE (Training of Starting Entrepreneur) generic version. Methods of training includes lecture sessions, business games, discussions, individual and group exercises, role plays, brainstorming, project assignments presentations, practice teaching with visual aids, pictures and illustrations and other participatory and action learning methods.
TRAINING FACILITATOR
- ILO certified one “SIYB Master Trainer” and Skills and Enterprise Development Expert of WHH will facilitate the training.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF FACILITATOR
- Price quote, CV and individual PAN # will be provided by the Master Trainers
- Facilitator will develop the training schedule for 6 days and will be facilitating the whole training based on that training schedules. Sessions will be facilitated by the trainers on their mutual understanding.
- Responsible for collection and preparation of training materials and training tools required for the training.
- The training duration will be 6 days residential, and Facilitator will be provided additional ½ days to preparation for the training and ½ days for the report preparation of the training.
- Submit the Training report to WHH within 7 days after completion of training.
KEY COMPETENCIES OF Facilitator
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in business management or relevant field.
- Certificate holder of ILO certified “SIYB Master Trainer” generic version.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in facilitating SIYB ToT training.
- Evidence of previous training conducted.
Participants: Total 27 participants (25 participants, 2 Trainer).
Proposed Date and Venue: 2-7 December 2024 at Terai.
