Group of Helping Hands (SAHAS) Nepal is a national non-profitable and non-governmental community development organization founded in 1996. Since inception, SAHAS Nepal has been working in remote areas of the country focusing on marginalized and vulnerable groups who are deprived of development opportunities. SAHAS puts its development efforts towards strengthening the capacities of the communities and local partner organizations to create an enabling environment for sustaining the development initiatives through collective efforts including the communities themselves. SAHAS continues to use the ‘bottom-up’, ‘Rights-Based Approach (RBA)’ and ‘inclusive community-based approach’ to identify and serve its target groups.The organization is currently implementing various projects in 22 districts across 7 provinces of Nepal. 

SAHAS Nepal is looking for potential candidates for the following positions:

1. Position: Technical Coordinator

Required number: 1

Location: Lalitpur

Academic qualification/experiences:

  • Master’s degree in agriculture science with a minimum of 5 years work experience in livelihoods, food and nutrition security, climate change, and sustainable agriculture in related projects
  • Experience in the overall management of the project by providing strong leadership in planning, execution, monitoring, coordination, documentation and reporting 
  • Prior experience in producing concept notes, designing project proposals and other publications
  • Capacity building experience on agriculture, climate change and livelihoods
  • Proficient in M.S. Office (Excel, PowerPoint and Word) and fluent in both (written and oral) English and Nepali. 

Major responsibilities:

  • Ensure the project activities are planned and implemented based on project result chain
  • Facilitate capacity building and training session to the project team members especially agriculture technician and officers
  • Monitor the project progress in accordance with output and outcome indicators and submit quality report on timely basis
  • Establish and maintain congenial working relationships with local, provincial and federal governments, relevant line agencies and project stakeholders
  • Conduct regular field monitoring visits and support field staff to ensure quality delivery of services to the target beneficiary groups
  • Lead and facilitate in designing range of knowledge products and other publications
  • Prepare and submit periodic progress reports and financial report ensuring organizational and funding partner’s compliance
  • Represent the organization in provincial and national level programs

2. Position: Admin and Finance Officer

Required number: 2

Location: Surkhet and Dailekh districts

Academic qualification/experiences:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BBS or BBA) with 2 years experience in Finance and Administrative works
  • Excellent computer skills in Excel, Ms-Word, Power point, skills in Accounting Software
  • Strong commitment to team work with effective communication
  • Motivating leadership, interpersonal skills in languages and efficient team player

Major responsibilities:

  • Budget preparation and implementation 
  • Implementation of the compliance of the government, funding partner and the organization
  • Maintain financial accounts, procurement, records daily and financial management
  • Day to day logistic and administrative tasks
  • Financial reporting, analysis, monitoring and follow up of project activities 
  • Maintain safety, secure of the project assets, stock, and keep records of personal files, tax, Social Security Fund etc.
  • Conduct basic book keeping training and follow-up to Community based network organizations (CBNOs)
