ASN has been engaged in developing and implementing programs aimed at protection, promotion, and fulfillment of child rights in Nepal. Currently ASN has been working in 25 districts under 6 Thematic Areas as: Education/Child Protection, Women Empowerment, Livelihood/ Natural Resource Management, Disaster Risk Reduction, Health/ Nutrition and Good Governance.

Aasaman Nepal is implementing "Women's Economic Mainstreaming for Empowerment, Rights and Gender Equality (Women EMERGE) in 10 LGU in three provinces (Madhesh, Karnali and Sudurpaschim) The program is supported by UN Women, and is part of the joint programme "Empowered Women Prosperous Nepal" (EWPN) that is being implemented by ILO, UNICEF, UNFPA and UN Women. Aasaman Nepal invites applications from dedicated and qualified Nepali citizens for the following position based in Kathmandu with frequent field travel. 

1. Team Lead- 1 Nos (Female Only)

Duty Station: Kathmandu with frequent field travel 

Key Responsibilities: 

Experience in programme management and strong working experience with excluded groups in the development/humanitarian context. Team lead is expected to manage the team and the delivery of the proposed programme in an effective and timely manner, by arrangement of necessary human resources, and monitoring and supervising delivery of activities and documentation of result. Further team lead will coordinate with province team, UN Women and EWPN partners as well as government counterparts. 

Programme Planning and Management:

  • Lead programmatic implementation and team management
  • Ensure the participatory Planning and effective implementation of the Women EMERGE project in close coordination with the project team.
  • Overall monitoring on grants/programs to assure adherence to internal policies, government and donor compliances.
  • Implementation of the project based on sound analysis of development context and strategies of mitigating challenges.
  • Ensure that project activities are implemented in line with GBV, child protection and safeguarding policies.

Advocacy, Networking and Social Accountability

  • Coordinate with Province, local government authorities, consortium, and other non-governmental organizations to create collaborative efforts through regular meetings, interactions, and initiating joint monitoring visits and social campaigns.
  • Provide technical inputs in Gender Transformative and GESI Policy Advocacy activities in Provincial, district and local level;

Monitoring, Reporting and Documentation:

  • Understand the project’s theory of change, log frame, monitoring framework etc. and support M&E team to draft project specific M&E tools and share with Team.
  • Verify and finalize monthly, quarterly, and annual reports including validating programmatic and financial reports and ensure timely submission of agreed reports.
  • Coordinate periodic monitoring and joint monitoring visits as agreed.

People management, Budgeting and Procurement

  • Lead the project team and ensure performance management
  • Act as a focal person for safeguarding and security
  • Ensure effective financial compliances and reporting done on timely manner
  • Work closely with finance person in the organization to prepare budget, any amendments, and forecasts as per project requirements
  • Supervise the procurement and inventory management (monitoring the physical condition of store/warehouses, necessary guidance to the inventory in charge).

Other Duties

  • Take leadership in emergencies as required
  • Perform other duties as per need and as guided by the organization and the partner organization.
  • Essential criteria (must have to be able to carry out the role successfully)

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum a Master’s degree in development studies, Gender/Women’s study/social science or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of Experience in the areas of programme management, implementation and monitoring and evaluation of development assistance intervention from gender and social inclusion lens
  • Prior experience working in program related to women empowerment, vocational skill training and knowledge management, GESI, gender transformative and social norms, GESI men engage approach, disability and inclusion and capacity development, etc. 
  • A track record in resource mobilization and ability to manage budgets and report on implementation.
  • Strong strategic, networking, analytical and problem- solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent knowledge and skills on digital literacy
  • Excellent report writing skills in English.

Languages

Strong command of Nepali, English (oral and written) and local language preferred/required.
