Context
HELP is a local NGO established in 2009 with the goal of improving the quality of education in some of the remote village schools in Sindupalchowk. Its education programmes have supported around 90 schools, benefitting over 10,000 children in many of the outlying villages in Helambu Valley and the adjacent valleys.
Currently, it runs programmes like Saathi Teachers Programme, School in a Bag (SIAB), Scholarship Programmes, and CU Volunteer programmes, designed and aimed to strengthen the quality of education. Saathi Teachers Programme believes that the teachers should be friendly with the learners in order to create an effective learning environment. A Saathi teacher is a passionate teacher committed to improving students' numeracy and literacy skills and focusing on the development of the 4C (Creativity, Critical thinking, Communication, and Collaboration) skills of the 21st century among students developing in the primary classroom in a child-friendly way.
