APEIRON is a women led Nepali NGO working for a gender equal society through four main areas of interventions; Gender Based Violence Prevention and Response, Awareness and Education, Income Generation and Institutional Collaboration. It started out as an international NGO with the headquarters in Italy on 2004 and evolved into a national NGO in 2013. APEIRON is also operating children home with capacity of 25 children at a time since 2017 to provide alternative care and contributing protection and development of most needy and At-Risk children of Nepal.

APEIRON invites applications from the interested and eligible candidates as a residential staff for the position of Supervisor/Shelter In charge for child protection shelter home.

Job description and responsibilities:

1. Maintain quality of care and support of children which includes physical, emotional, intellectual, social and cultural needs as per comprehensive standards of children home by promoting child rights.
2. Responsible for the accurate maintenance of financial records, budgeting, daily expenses entry keeping and monitoring of children home inventory, store and equipment
3. Addressing to practical matters in relation to childcare (cooking, cleaning, general maintenance around the home etc.).
4. Keeping accurate records and timely reporting of children for planning meetings, reviews or any other activities
5. Establish relations and maintain communication with organizations and individuals working in child right like: Focal person of children, Municipality office, ward office, local NGOs, other relevant stakeholder organizations, referral facilities etc.
6. Establish relations and maintain communication with professionals providing care (Doctor, Dentist and Psychiatrist), teacher (educator) or training (occupational trainer) to the residents and visits to educational institutes to obtain information regarding child performance.
7. Identify various available programs and skills development activities for the children residing in the children home
8. Sets ambitious and challenging goals for themselves and their team, takes responsibility for their own personal development and encourages others to do the same
9. Widely shares their personal vision for organization, engages and motivates others
10. Future oriented, thinks strategically

Required Qualifications

• Intermediate /Bachelor in any field with atleast 2 years of work experience with children
• Efficiency in Computer skills (MS word/ MS excel)
• Should have patience and child friendly nature
• Knowledge of child rights and child protection

Position type: Residential

Job Location: Kathmandu

Contract Period: 12 months with possibility of extension
