Rural Community Development Centre (RCDC- Nepal), Besishahar, Lamjung was established for advocacy initiatives in social justice, human rights and governance. Aiming at wellbeing of children, happiness of women and promoting governance culture, RCDC-Nepal has been managing physical and community development initiatives in Lamjung, Gorkha, Tanahun and Manang districts.RCDC is going to implement the Community Engagement and Sponsorship Plan (CESP), Building Secure Livelihoods (BSL),  and Channel of Hope (COH)  in Lamjung district from 1st October, 2020 in partnership with World Vision International Nepal. We are looking for qualified individuals to implement those projects in Lamjung district. RCDC- Nepal hereby invites applications, for the below-mentioned position, from interested Nepalese candidates.

Sponsorship Quality Control Officer

(Rich Media, Horizon and Data Management)

Position Description: 

The purpose of this position is to manage processes that enable Lamjung Area Program [AP] to generate products and resources (Videos, Photos, Stories) that can deepen Child Sponsorship experience for sponsors/supporters and partners, children and communities. It requires to manage the Sponsorship Systems desktop, Horizon mobile application and data management to ensure the quality of data and efficient management of Sponsorship systems. It also requires to identify and manage data gaps in system/ child data and child media contents.

This position will provide technical support to capacitate Sponsorship Field Mobilizers of Lamjung AP to ensure quality of Child Sponsorship products and resources including Sponsorship Rich Media products and Horizon Systems and application management in compliance with World Vision’s Child Sponsorship Global Standards.

This position will work in coordination with WVI Nepal [Sponsorship Field Coordinator] with regards to Child Sponsorship communications in terms of Sponsorship Rich Media products and internally with Sponsorship Field Mobilizers. This position requires to interact and coordinate with other functions within organization/sectors to ensure Sponsorship Data is being triangulated and utilised to influence programmatic decisions that bring Child wellbeing and ensure 100% RC inclusion in programmes in the AP. This position also demands to manage the registered children’s data portfolio and ensure the quality and timeliness of the information of registered children in the horizon hope reimagined.

  • Coordinate operations of all Child Sponsorship Business processes of Sponsorship Rich Media and Data management for Lamjung AP. 
  • Coordinate quality, integrity, security and consistency of information generated by all Child Sponsorship Rich Media products and systems for Lamjung AP. 
  • Coordinate and ensure all the child media contents related to child sponsorship is timely captured in AP and submitted to WVI Nepal National Office for quality review and upload. 
  • Coordinate queries related to Child and community contents and RC data for AP. Ensure queries are responded to in a timely manner. Ensure queries and feedback loops are documented. 
  • Ensure Sponsorship Operations Indicator (SOI) and Child Monitoring Standards (CMS) reports in terms of RC’s Data for the AP is green and plan follow up action in case of variance and discrepancies.
  • Ensure the AP has latest updated media contents for capability in Auto APR production and identify and manage data gaps in system/ child data and child media content.
  • Coordinate with other functions and sectors to ensure Sponsorship Data is being triangulated and utilized to influence programmatic decisions that bring Child wellbeing and ensure RC participation and benefit in programmes in the AP. 
  • Manage the registered children’s data portfolio and ensure the quality and timeliness of the information of registered children including well managed RC growth, monitoring, and replacements of AP in the horizon hope reimagined.
  • Ensure that the reports are generated, analyzed and timely action taken on GC rejected child media contents. 
  • Liaise with MEAL function to identify data discrepancies/gaps in various systems using by organization and to work on ensuring the data are authentic and consistent in all systems.
  • Responsible for maintenance and operations of Sponsorship Business Processes of Sponsorship Rich Media and Data management (RC monitoring and Participation) for Lamjung AP to enable timely Sponsorship Rich Media production and Horizon systems reconciliation in compliance with WV global Child Sponsorship Standards.

  • Assist Sponsorship Field Coordinator on capacity building of sponsorship staff to maintain quality, timeliness and understanding of all child sponsorship child and community media contents. 
  • Assist program coordinator on capacity building and support to Sponsorship staff to ensure quality, integrity, security and consistency of data input at the AP level.
  • Ensure that organization’s performance meet minimum organizational standards relevant to systems operations. 
  • Conduct regular visits to target program areas to ensure consistent processes and enable direct support when necessary. 
  • Identify Sponsorship Business related issues on Sponsorship Rich Media and Data management and provide problem solving support to AP, or coordinate support with WVI Nepal when Sponsorship Business related issues need to be escalated.
  • Assist and provide support to Sponsorship Field Coordinator and program coordinator on capacity building of Sponsorship staff to ensure quality, integrity, security and consistency of Rich Media features and data management as well as timeliness and responsiveness of systems operations

  • Liaise with WVI Nepal to identify and describe sponsor/ SOs motivations and interest in a way that helps APs to capture RC Data and Child and Media content that meet Sponsor/ SO’s expectations. 
  • Liaise with sectors staff to identify key messages to communicate to sponsors, including (i) key challenges facing children, and (ii) key programme achievements that demonstrate change in children’s lives. 
  • Identify modalities to work with children, families and community to help them understand the importance of collecting authentic, heart-warming and inspiring stories
  • Support Program Coordinator to identify activities where Sponsorship Rich Media processing and media production can be aligned to best capture children’s participation and impact through WVI Nepal/RCDC’s programmes. 
  • Coordinate internal and external relationships that are critical to ensure quality child data and child and community media content acquirement from AP/Communities

  • Identify, assess and communicate risks associated with maintenance and management of Sponsorship Rich Media and Data management for the AP. Coordinate mitigation measures together with WVI Nepal and other Stakeholders.   
  • Ensure that all processes associated with WVI Nepal’s Child Sponsorship Rich Media and Data management are following organizational standards and policies.
  • Management of Child Sponsorship Rich Media and Data management Risks in compliance with WV Global standards

Competencies: 

A. Academic Qualification, Experiences 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in any relevant field with two years of experience in development sector. 
  • Experience working in a rural or remote district of Nepal. 
  • Good analytical skills; ability to critically analyze data, identify diverging and converging trends, and recommend improvement. 
  • Good interpersonal skills and cross-cultural sensitivity. Strong collaboration and partnership skills to mobilize engagement and influence.

B. Sector Knowledge, Skills and Work Environment  

  • Basic storytelling techniques, Child engagement techniques, Critical thinking skills and Communication and facilitation skills, including communicating with children and adults with respect and dignity
  • Computer and Technology literacy; Strong computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Strong experience in using technology including information management database software and platforms. 
  • User experience with WV’s data management, information platforms such as Horizon SSUI and Horizon Mobile Application. 
  • Will be required to spend at least 40 % of work time traveling to program areas to provide support and monitoring of performance. 
  • Willingness to work outside office hours especially when conducting monitoring/field visits. 

C. Project Management 

  • Integration - Good   interpersonal and strong coordination skills for Sponsorship Integration with other sectors. 
  • Risk management – Identify potential risk in implementing sponsorship activities, plan and support in preparing and implementing sponsorship risk management plan.
  • Reporting – Provide accurate data and information related to registered children [RC] and sponsorship activities and ensure reports are shared timely. 
  • Data Management – Keep records and track RC data and participation, analyze and share the reports.

D. Capacity Building 

  • Be capacitated and ensure staff are capacitated on SBTII4DP, sponsorship communications Rich Media features, Data Management, Horizon Hope system, Sponsorship process and global standards, child engagement skills for meaningful and fun sponsorship activities for children.

E. Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications

  • Knowledge of World Vision’s Technical Programmes and organizational policies and standards, including Child Sponsorship standards and Sponsorship Integration.
