PASS- Nepal is a non-biased, nonprofit making, independent and non-government organization (NGO). It was established by a group of non-political, academic and professional people in 2002 AD with a great motivation to work in the local regions and currently working 4 district in Karnali Province. 

In the same context, PASS Nepal in partnership with Ipas Nepal is implementing Strengthening sustainable sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) program in Nepal in four districts of Karnali province. The main goal of the program is to develop an innovative and dynamic approach and goes strategic shift to achieve and to ensure, free, quality and sustained reproductive health services.

Now, we are seeking a dedicated Social Mobilizer to work in Aathbiskot, Rukum West to support the successful implementation of our Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) project. The SRHR project aims to promote the health and well-being of women and marginalized communities by increasing awareness, improving access to services and advocating for gender equality and reproductive health rights and also climate change.

Location: Aathbiskot municipality, Rukum West

Project: Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR)

Contract Type: Full-time

Deadline: 28th, Oct. 2024 (12th Kartik, 2081)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mobilize community members, especially women and adolescents, marginalized groups, to participate in SRHR project activities.
  • Conduct regular community awareness sessions on SRHR, family planning, gender-based violence and climate change 
  • Coordinate with local government bodies, health facilities, and community stakeholders to facilitate project implementation.
  • Identify community needs related to SRHR and work with the project team to develop needed interventions.
  • Support the organization of health camps, training, meeting and workshops in the palikas and community.
  • Regularly monitor and report on project progress to the project team.
  • Ensure that project activities are inclusive, gender-sensitive, and culturally appropriate.
  • Assist in advocacy efforts to promote gender equality and women’s rights at the community level.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum ANM/AHW/ CMA/HA/Staff nurse complete with council registration.
  • At least 2 years of experience in social mobilization or community development, preferably in SRHR or health projects.
  • Strong understanding of local context and challenges related to SRHR in rural areas.
  • Experience working with women, youth, and marginalized communities.
  • Good communication and facilitation skills in local languages.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with local government structures and health services.
