FAIRMED is a Swiss development organization dedicated to work with its motto “Health for the Poorest”. The organization plays an important role in providing health care access to the marginalized communities and individuals who are prone to diseases, disability, and poverty. The core focus of FAIRMED's work in Nepal is Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) – Leprosy, LF, Kala-azar, etc and Maternal and Neonatal Health (MNH), while it interweaves GESI and Disability Inclusive Development (DID) as cross cutting themes into its programs to strengthen the health system and increase the uptake of public health services. In order to act as the Communication focal person, and support the organisaiton capture its achievements, lessons learned, FAIRMED is looking for a Senior Officer for Communication Knowledge Management, and Liasion role to be based in Country office.

The position is responsible for overseeing all Communication, Knowledge Management, and Liaison functions within the organization. Key responsibilities include strengthening internal and external communication strategies, enhancing institutional branding and visibility, and building coordination with government agencies, stakeholders, and partner organizations. The officer will ensure audience specific information flow between the Head Office, Country Office, and Project Offices through systematic documentation and dissemination. Regular field visits will be conducted to gather program insights and collaborate with project teams in developing high-quality communication and knowledge products (case stories, reports, newsletters, web articles, etc.).

Additionally, the role serves as the primary liaison between FAIRMED and government line agencies, facilitating project agreement processes, monitoring, and evaluation compliance. This includes coordinating with the Social Welfare Council (SWC), Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), and other relevant bodies to ensure alignment with national regulations and reporting requirements. The position plays a pivotal role in maintaining stakeholder relationships, organizing joint reviews, and ensuring government partnerships are effectively managed for program sustainability.

Required Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

Education:

Master’s degree from a recognized university in Mass Communication, Journalism, Media Studies, Public Relations, Development Studies, or Social Science.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in communication, knowledge management, and stakeholder engagement, preferably in the development sector.

  • Proven experience in developing and managing knowledge products (reports, case studies, best practices, manuals, newsletters, and policy briefs).

  • Demonstrated experience in content creation for websites, social media, and multimedia platforms.

 Skills & Competencies:

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills in English and Nepali (ability to translate technical content into engaging materials).

  • Strong digital communication skills, including proficiency in social media management, graphic design tools (Canva, Adobe Suite), and data visualization.

  • Creative and innovative in knowledge management, with the ability to present complex information in accessible formats (infographics, videos, etc.).

  • Proven leadership in driving new ideas, campaigns, and strategic communication initiatives.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, take initiative, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong analytical skills to synthesize lessons learned and produce high-quality knowledge products.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.

  • Willingness to travel frequently to project sites for documentation, storytelling, and stakeholder engagement.

  • Training and facilitation skills in communication and knowledge-sharing workshops.
