Fair Trade Group Nepal (FTGN) is a national network of Fair Trading Organization in Nepal. The Organization seeks to promote advancement of the socio-economic status of underprivileged, marginalized producers across the country. To achieve this, it has been working towards developing constructive collaboration with key stakeholders, partners and members to influence policy and promote Fair Trade at national, regional and international levels.

FTGN is seeking to recruit full time Professional as below:

Position: Senior Manager

Type: One year contract with possibility of extension

Duty Location: FTGN office in Lalitpur

Summary of Position:

In the above position is a Senior Position in FTGN Secretariat and will oversee all operational activities of the organization to ensure smooth operation and provide strategic direction to meet organizational mission and vision. The candidate must be adaptable, ethical, build strong relationship, communicate effectively, creative/innovative, foster team work, lead, organize, plan, problem solve, and think strategically.

The overall responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following-:

• Research funding source, oversee the development of fund-raising plans and write funding proposals to increase the funds of the organization.
• Develop an operational plan which incorporates goals and objectives that work towards the strategic direction of the organization.
• Oversee the planning, implementation and evaluation of the organization's programs and services and ensure that the programs and services offered by the organization contribute to the organization's mission and reflect the strategic priorities of FTGN.
• Draft policies for the approval of the Board and prepare procedures to implement the organizational policies; review existing policies on an annual basis and recommend changes to the Board as appropriate.
• Ensure that the organization complies to all the organizational policies and guidelines and all legislations
• Establish a positive, healthy and safe work environment in accordance with all appropriate legislation and regulations.
• Establish good working relationships and collaborative arrangements with community groups, funders, and other key stakeholder to help achieve the goals of the organization.
• Prepare a comprehensive Operation Plan and budget of the organization.
• Provide comprehensive, regular reports on the revenues and expenditure of the organization.

Required Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in management, social science or related field;
• At least 3 years of senior position experience in I/NGOs or private sector;
• Sound understanding of the political, social and economic context in Nepal with pro-poor approach in Livelihood Promotion and Entrepreneurship Development;
• Demonstrable experience in designing, planning and implementing high quality development programs;
• Proven ability to engage at a strategic level and maintain quality networks with partners and stakeholders; good networking skills with a proven ability to develop relations with funding agencies, government and other stakeholders.
