Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (preferably master’s degree) in Finance, Accounting, or relevant field least three years of working experience in non-profit organization/NGOs/INGOs and managing financial management of projects funded by EU/USAID and similar donors would be additional strengthens;
- Should have proficiency of using accounting and financial management software (e.g., FAMAS, Tally, Swastik);
- Ability to adapt and learn new software;
- Sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment, attention to details and accuracy, and strong operational focus; and Proficiency in written and verbal communication skills in English and Nepali.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Implement effective financial internal control systems to ensure YI-Lab and donor’s compliances and regulations;
- Ensuring bank and party, petty cash reconciliation;
- Producing a budget v/s actual report for each of the running project on a monthly basis;
- Ensuring the organization is compliant to Tax Laws;
- Preparing and disseminating periodic financial reports to YI-Lab management and donors;
- Ensuring with project approval work and the annual organization renew work;
- Coordinate with project members in ensuring financial compliances of YI-Lab, donors, government agencies (SWC, tax offices);
- Supervising procurement process;
- Preparing cash flow projections for the organization;
- Developing projected budget for the fiscal year for the organization;
- Taking responsibility of asset and property protection and management, and apply measures accordingly;
- Conducting regular cash flow analysis;
- Identifying and resolving accounting discrepancies and other financial related issues;
- Responsible for accurate and timely processing of invoices, advances and reimbursements, timely deposit of cash receipts, checks, and wire transfer payments;
- Following and maintaining procedures to ensure accurate and timely payment of travel advances, reimbursements for staff and partner travel;
- Coordinating with project lead for tracking budgeted activities in monthly basis;
- Monitor, supervise, and advise YI-Lab’s partners and sub-grantees to ensure donors compliances and requirements;
- Conduct field visit and partners office for financial monitoring and submit report to Project lead and YI-Lab management;
- Supporting in the preparation of internal and external financial audits; and
- Working with project members to develop financial proposal.
