[Group Personal Accident (GPA) and Medical (Hospitalization) Insurance Service]

Reduce and Intercept, Value add through the Establishment of a Recycling plant for low-grade plastics and used beverage cartons (UBC) in Nepal (RIVER+) Project is funded by the World Bank through the PLEASE Project, which is implemented by the South Asia Co-operative Environment Programme with support from UNOPS. RIVER+ is led by Biocomp Nepal in partnership with People in Need and CLEAN UP NEPAL. Thus, we are looking forward to have a Service Contract for the period of one year to provide the insurance service for Informal Waste Workers (IWWs) for Group Personal Accident (GPA) and Hospitalization Treatment insurance.

General remarks and special conditions 

• The medical insurance policy should cover the following details:
  • GPA 5 Lakh
  • Hospitalization 1 lakh
  • Critical illness (1. Being respiratory in nature (asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), pulmonary fibrosis, pneumonia, and lung cancer, 2. Chronic illness (blood pressure, diabetes, etc, 3. Psycho Social Problems)
• Insurance package & benefits should cover or be same as or equivalent to above mentioned criteria
  • Insurance company have to provide at least 20 health workshop orientation sessions on insurance scheme & process to claim to the 500 IWWs on need basis. And shall be completed up to 31 January 2025. There will be cluster basis group division of 25 (Approx) group each.
  • The policy should clearly mention coverage/limit under each section i.e - Doctor fee, medicine, lab test, Xray, surgery charge, bed charge, etc
  • The proposal/offer should mention the period of settlement after submission. 
  • Please mention the submission time of claim after illness/check-up/discharge.
  • Eligibility of claim after date of insurance.
  • Please specify if the Claim in reimbursed in claimant account directly or through organization, CLEAN UP NEPAL.

The Insurance company have to submit a hard copy in a sealed envelope along with copy of company legal documents (Company registration, VAT registration and Latest Tax clearance) by CoB 30 July 2024 at the below-mentioned address following CLEAN UP Nepal’s instructions for hard copy submission:
