REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP) for the consultancy services

The Community-Based Disaster Risk Reduction (CBDRR) project, implemented by WAC-Nepal and CSSD with financial and technical support from World Vision International Nepal aims to strengthen the disaster preparedness and response capacities of vulnerable communities in disaster-prone areas of Nepal. The project targets Panchadewal Binayak Municipality and Turmakhand Rural Municipality in Achham District, as well as Tikapur Municipality, Bhajani Municipality, and Janaki Rural Municipality in Kailali District.

The project focuses on strengthening the capacities of task forces of Disaster Management Committees at the community and ward level, creating a strong foundation for community-based disaster management. These task forces at CDMCs and WDMCs, along with Local Disaster Management Committees (LDMCs) play a central role in enhancing local disaster resilience. The initial training helped members understand their roles and responsibilities fostering a deeper awareness of disaster preparedness.

Building on this momentum, the project is now set to deliver hands-on training covering critical topics such as Early Warning Systems (EWS), First Aid and Light Search and Rescue (SAR) operations further to enhance the technical capacity of the CDMCs and WDMCs, empowering them to respond effectively and confidently in emergencies and disaster situations

The objectives of the consultancy are as below:

• Conduct 3 Event EWS Training, 3 Event SAR Training and 3 Event First Aid Training at 6 Event Kailali district and 3 Events in Achham district. 

Application procedure:

Consultancy firms or individuals are required to submit the following documents: 

• Letter of interest 
• CV specifying organizational/ individual capacity statement relevant to the development of advocacy tool required within the deliverables which includes objectives and method with detailed timeline.
• Financial proposal for the service required.
• Relevant supporting documents including a technical proposal.
• Copy of registration certificate/latest tax clearance for firm and copy of PAN (for an individual)
• Sample of previous document or publication of a similar nature
