REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP)

The Asia Foundation Nepal is seeking proposals from eligible research organizations to conduct two Political Economy Analyses (PEAs) under the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) supported Civil Society and Media (CSM) Activity in Nepal.

1.     PEA of Civil Society in Federal Nepal: This PEA aims to explore political economy factors that determine the civil society operations; and seeks to understand the relationships between civil society, government, media, and politics; and to identify entry points for USAID CSM to support a more enabling environment for civil society organizations (CSOs). 2.     PEA of School Merger in the Hilly Region of Lumbini Province: This PEA aims to explore the political and economic factors influencing school mergers and their impact on girls, youth, and marginalized groups in the hilly region of Lumbini province. It specifically seeks to understand how political dynamics and financial considerations shape these decisions, assess the effects on access, quality, and equity in education, and identify entry points for CSM to support local governments in developing evidence-based education policies. Interested organizations are requested to submit their proposals in accordance with the guidelines for Submission of Proposal and Scope of Work no later than 5:00 PM Nepal Time (NPT) on Friday, November 29, 2024, via email to usaidcsm.nepal@asiafoundation.org. Please specify in the email subject the specific PEA you are applying for.
