Swisscontact is an International Non-Governmental Organisation which started its operations in 1991 with the Training Institute for Technical Instruction Programme. At present, Swisscontact’s Nepal portfolio consists of five development programmes across all the seven Provinces and has a well-functioning country office that employs over 80 national and international staff.

Swisscontact Nepal is also implementing the UK Government’s Foreign, Commonwealth Development Office’s (FCDO) funded Commercial Agriculture for Smallholders and Agribusiness (CASA) programme. The programme works towards the commercialization of dairy and vegetable value chain in Nepal. As part of its work in the agriculture sector, the programme wants to conduct an Investment Policy Review study of the agriculture sector in Nepal with the aim to provide a comprehensive overview of the current policy environment for investing in the sector, as well as any potential opportunities or challenges for investors. 

This request for proposal (RFP) is to invite potential service providers to conduct a study to identify the supply and demand side of investment in the agriculture sector. This includes an examination of the legal and regulatory framework for investing in agriculture including SME financing, as well as an analysis of the market conditions and potential for growth in the sector along with factors that influence their need for investment, the reasons for their success or failure in securing the required investments, specific areas where financing is required and other challenges/opportunities.

Interested organizations are invited to submit their technical and financial proposal with a cover letter to np.info@swisscontact.org no later than 5 PM March 13, 2023, with subject line: CASA Agriculture Investment Policy Review. Only shortlisted organizations will be notified.
