FAITH is a non-profit organization dedicated to advocate for the health and human rights of female sex workers, Women living with HIV and Female who use drugs. We are currently seeking a qualified and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Project Officer who is proficient in advocacy for supporting and advancing efforts to prevent and respond to gender based violence (GBV), promoting gender equality, and creating a safe and inclusive environment targeting Nepali female sex workers (FSWs).

 

Time period: 24 months

 

Responsibilities:

1.     Implement project activities in accordance with established project objectives and timelines. This includes developing strategies and work plans.

 

2.     Advocate for policy changes and engage in relevant advocacy initiatives to promote a comprehensive response to GBV targeting FSWs at local, regional, and national levels. This includes planning and implementing policy dialogues, workshops, with government, Police and collaborating with like-minded organizations to influence policy and practice.

 

3.     Supervise a comprehensive review of existing literature, research studies, reports, and policies related to GBV targeting female sex workers, both at the national and international levels. Assist in analyzing findings into clear and concise advocacy documents, including policy briefs, position papers, fact sheets, and presentations. Contribute to the development of evidence-based recommendations and policy documents to address the identified gaps. Ensure that the advocacy documents are tailored to different target audiences, including policymakers, government officials, civil society organizations, and the general public. Support the utilization of advocacy documents for strategic advocacy initiatives, such as policy dialogues, high-level meetings, conferences, and media engagements.

 

4.     Deliver training and capacity-building initiatives together with experts (where available) to relevant stakeholders, including community members. Provide ongoing technical support and mentoring to project staffs and partners who are from the beneficiaries groups on GBV prevention, survivor support, and referral mechanisms supporting the trained individuals to implement community based activities. This includes conducting regular meetings, providing advice on best practices and friendly supervision.

 

5.     Monitor project activities, track progress, and report on project outcomes, ensuring compliance with donor requirements and organizational standards. This includes developing monitoring tools, collecting and analyzing data, and preparing regular progress reports to measure the effectiveness and impact of GBV interventions and use the findings to inform programmatic decisions and improvements on regular basis.

 

6.     Maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders, including relevant government agencies, civil society organizations, and other relevant actors in the field of GBV. This involves attending coordination meetings, participating in working groups, and actively engaging in networking and partnership building activities.

 

Qualifications:

1.     Master's degree in public health, social work, gender studies, international development, or a related field.

2.     Minimum of five years of experience in project management, with a specific focus on GBV prevention and response.

3.     Strong knowledge of GBV issues, international standards, and best practices in GBV programming.

4.     Experience in designing and implementing GBV-related projects, including community led advocacy, community-based interventions, awareness campaigns, and capacity-building activities.

5.     Demonstrated experience in assessments, research, and data analysis related to GBV.

6.     Holds the ability to engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.

7.     Proven ability to work effectively in a team and independently, with strong organizational and time management skills.

8.     Familiarity with monitoring and evaluation frameworks and tools for GBV projects.

9.     Fluency in written and spoken English language.

10.  Knowledge of context and understanding of sensitivities related to violence against female sex workers will be an added advantages.
