Project Officer – Education (Woman only)

ANNOUNCEMENT OF VACANCY

United Mission to Nepal (UMN) is an international development organisation which aims to enable the poorest people living in poverty to transform their lives, leading towards fullness of life. As we serve the people of Nepal, multicultural teams of Nepali and volunteer expatriate staff work alongside local organisations in eight districts (six clusters and two hospitals), building partnerships that lead to healthy, dignified, and empowered individuals and transformed communities.

Position: Project Officer – Education (Mugu)

No. of position: 1 (Woman only)

The main purpose of this position is to ensure the successful implementation of UMN’s education projects in the Mugu Cluster.

Minimum qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education or Social Sciences with a minimum of three years of working experience in the education sector, especially in Early Childhood Development (ECD), child-friendly teaching-learning, and quality education.
• At least three years of working experience in project management with a particular focus on Activity Based Learning (ABL), child-friendly education, Inclusive Education, Education in Emergencies (EiE), School Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), ECD, and systems to support effective programming.
• Excellent knowledge and understanding of government education policies, programmes, priorities and issues related to school education in Nepal.
• Strong experience in project management, including planning, budgeting, monitoring, reporting, partner management and proposal development.
• Excellent communication skills in both Nepali and English, written and verbal.
