SAHAMATI

SAHAMATI(An Institution Dedicated For Community Plus Humane Development) SAHAMATI is a non-governmental, non-political, non-profit making, member-based social development organization established in 2001/11/12 (kartik 27, 2058) by a group of professionals and development workers with long experience in community development. This organization has been registered as an NGO under the organization registration act of Nepal. Global problems like climate change, poverty, social discrimination and migration influence Nepal's development process, demanding diversified answers. Underprivileged groups are often excluded while designing development program, unfortunate for them. SAHAMATI aims to make a change by addressing the huge challenges of the 21st century with a community-centered approach, focusing on social justice and social transformation, human rights development and self-help promotion. SAHAMATI has built a large network composed of diverse social groups, national and international organizations and like-minded institutions and have been launching various kinds of community-centered programs on collaboration. A range of internal programs have been developed and implemented independently through SAHAMATI under Theme 2 (Learning and Innovation) are coordinated through our own resources. Details / requirements:

SAHAMATI is in the process of implementing a project on Nature-based Solutions (NbS) with an aim to address the most pressing societal challenges of Khageri and Gindri watershed of the Lower Narayani River Basin. The project will focus on empowering CSOs and IPLCs, implementing Nature-based Solutions (NbS) to improve conditions of watersheds, reducing disaster and climate change-related risks, and improving natural resources governance in two critical watersheds namely, Gindri catchment in Nawalpur and Khageri catchment in Chitwan. The project period will be tentatively two and half years long with partnership with WWF Nepal.  SAHAMATI invites an application from an interested and qualified candidate to fulfil the following position.

 1. Positions:  Project Officer cum M & E - 1 (One) JD

Position Summary: The Project officer is responsible for providing strategic leadership, effective management of the project portfolio, and overseeing project personnel. The coordinator will work under the supervision of the Project Coordinator, and contribute to strategy development, project growth, project design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.

Duty Station : Gaindakot, Nawalparasi 

Required Qualifications: 

 Minimum bachelor's degree in Environment Science, Sociology, or a relevant field.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of working experience with project implementation, research and documentation capabilities.

  • Demonstrated experience in monitoring and evaluation of the project.

  • Ability to manage risks and work effectively in a team, including experience with local communities in conservation and development contexts.
