Community Development Society (CDS) established in 2001, by a committed and energetic group in the development field envisioned a “self-reliant, healthy and equitable society”, with a strong conviction of promoting social justice and equality by abolishing existing socio-economic inequality. The organization is working in the fields of livelihood, health, sanitation, education, environmental protection, women's empowerment, peace, and governance in Ramechhap and surrounding districts. The project “Vocational and Agricultural Training to Promote Employment and Entrepreneurship in southwestern Ramechhap” has been funded by BMZ through Childaid Network Foundation (CAN) which will be in operation for December 2025 to provide business skills and technical training based on demand to the youth of Khandadevi, Sunapati and Doramba rural municipalities of Ramechhap district for creating self-employment or employment through promoting entrepreneurship. The project is searching for a self-motivated, creative, committed, and dedicated candidate for the following position.

1. Position: Project Focal Person -1

Work distribution: Full-time (100%) Community Development Society (Manthali) 

Reporting to: Executive Director, Community Development Society (CDS), Manthali, Ramechhap.

Position Duration: 39 months 

Duty Station: CDS Manthali Office with field travel

Academic Requirements:

  • Master’s degree equivalent in rural development, sociology, anthropology, education, economics, and management, or other relevant subjects

Experiences:

  • Minimum 5 years of working experience in project management and implementation, GoN and donor/partner coordination, documentation, and reporting, preferably in the field of social & group mobilization, vocational and skill training 
  • Proven track record of directly managing a project team and collaborating effectively at all levels of an organization 

Required skills:

  • Extensive experience in program implementation, human resources, and financial management 
  • Ability to act as a coordination link between donor and implementing partners 
  • Outstanding interpersonal and coordination skills as well as the ability to create networks
  • Strong organizational skills, task prioritization, and attention to detail 
  • Excellent report-writing skills 
  • Excellent IT skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, database, and computer data analysis) both in English and Nepali 
  • Fluent in English, both verbal communication and writing 

Major duties and responsibilities:

  • Program planning and implementation 
  • Developing yearly and quarterly project activity and budget plans in coordination with the Project Management team and Executive Directors 
  • Guiding the project teams in developing detailed implementation plans based on the yearly plans
  • Conducting regular meetings with the Project coordinator to review work plans and to ensure the timely execution of the activities 
  • Ensuring regular visits in each project district, and identifying issues, challenges, and problems in the project implementation as well as proposing a solution 
  • Coordination Ensuring clear and good communication between all project stakeholders including CDS, Training Service Provider (TSP), and CAN
  • Coordinating with key stakeholders at local, provincial, and federal levels for the successful and smooth running of the overall program
  • Maintaining close communication and coordination with CAN 
  • Mentoring and Technical Support to the Project team 
  • Mentoring and guiding staff in all PMC-relevant issues 
  • Identify training needs/capacity enhancement for the staff 
  • Ensuring proper monitoring and evaluation (M & E) of the project outcomes along with partner organizations' M&E tools and system
  • Support project management teams in setting up project databases, tracking project progress, outcomes, and log-frame indicators 
  • Documentation, data management, and reporting 
  • Providing monthly summary reports, quarterly narrative reports, and annual reports in coordination with the Project Managers 
  • Provide updates regarding program status, challenges, and opportunities to CAN General Perform tasks as assigned by the CDS Executive Director

Academic Requirements:

  • Master’s degree equivalent in rural development, sociology, anthropology, or other relevant subjects

Experiences:

  • Minimum 5 years of working experience in project implementation in GoN and I/NGO  in the field of vocational and skill training 
  • Proven track record of directly executing project activities and team mobilization.
  • Sound knowledge in entrepreneurship development through vocational and skill training in a rural area

Required skills:

  • Computer skills (Windows packages and database)
  • Two-wheeler driving skills with having a license
  • Interpersonal relation buildup
  • Effective report writing and communication in English and Nepali
  • Conflict mitigation 
  • Coordination
  • Team mobilization and management

Major duties and responsibilities:

  • Develop of project operation plan in close coordination between the project focal person and the executive director 
  • Formulate a detailed execution plan of the field in close coordination with the project field team
  • Forecast of project budget and dissemination according to project activities
  • Ensure the project activities implementation with quality, effectiveness, and sustainable impact
  • Develop the project database and frequently update it as well
  • Effective documentation to field information and publicizing
  • Effective Coordination with Rural municipalities, ward offices, government other line agencies, local other NGOs, stakeholders, and beneficiaries
  • Develop project activities monitoring tools and framework
  • Facilitate building up the capacity of subordinates and effective team mobilization
  • Produce a project progress report and submission at CDS, RM, and Funding partners
  • Execute the training cycle
