Helen Keller International (HKI) Nepal is a nonprofit organization seeking applications from energetic, self motivated Nepalese citizens for the position of:
Project Director NUTRITION - Assessment and Research on Child Feeding
Contract Period: 2 years
Overall the Project Director will:
• Work with the Country Director and other project staff to plan and manage all project activities including developing and monitoring the annual country project workplan and budget
• Help identify and thereafter manage local research Sub-Contracts to achieve the agreed upon objectives, including monitoring their expenditures and ensuring compliance with procedures required by sub-contract agreements
• Keep key project staff informed about progress of project implementation
• Ensure that narrative country reports are submitted to Headquarters as required by project agreements
Specific Tasks include:
• Planning & Managing Project Start Up
• Managing Four Project Studies and Assessments
• Analysis and Report Preparation
• Facilitation of Local Stakeholder Meetings
Qualifications and Experience
• Post graduate degree in nutrition or related field strongly preferred, or alternatively strong communications or marketing expertise with solid competence in nutrition;
• Proven planning, coordination, organization and management skills;
• Past experience working on infant and young child feeding issues, including research
• Strong analytical skills and critical reasoning;
• Demonstrated track record in undertaking and supporting data collection, analysis and report and article writing;
• Experience in identifying collaborative groups and in conducting advocacy;
• Demonstrated ability to be self-directed and effectively interact and communicate with government, academia, and other stakeholders at the national level;
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Strong communication skills including excellent oral and written English
• Experience developing communications materials;
• Demonstrated ability to prepare presentations and articles;
• Computer Literate in MS Operating Systems, MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint); Experience with Epi-info and SSPS an advantage.
