Project Coordinator /Enterprise Development Officer

VACANCY RE-ANNOUNCEMENT

MCDC, Saptari, Nepal, a non-profitable social development organization of Nepal. Curreltly,  MCDC Nepal is implementing the Welthungerhilfe (WHH) supported project titled “Strengthening municipal-wide WASH governance for social change in Saptari District-NPL 1060” Province No. 2, we invite applications from interested and qualified Nepali citizens for the following position: The positions are  located in Saptari district field office.

1. Position: Project Coordinator – 1 No
2. Position: Enterprise Development Officer – 1 No.

The position is based in Saptari district (DakneshwariNagarpalika, BishnupurGaaupalika and RajgadhGaupalika) with frequently visit to project location palikas.

Qualification and experiences: 

Project coordinator:

• At least 5 years of similar experience with I/NGOs and government especially in Terai region of Nepal.
• MSc in environmental science/ engineering, development studies or equivalent degree from the recognized university. Bachelor’s degree with +7 years of experience in managing large grant WASH program.
• Solid working experience in water supply, sanitation and hygiene particularly focusing on safely managed drinking water, Post-ODF(Total sanitation), Fecal Sludge Management and Solid Waste management.
• Experiences on project cycle management and leading +20 staffs
• Experiences in humanitarian crisis/emergencies and basic understanding of WASH emergency response/reconstruction, including sphere standards.
• Knowledge and skills on Rights- based approaches, GESI, nutrition, and special needs of women in this context would be an added advantage.
• Willingness to travel extensively in the project locations and ability to work under high pressure.
• Ability to prepare technical reports in English reflecting the problem/learnings with possible solutions.
• Excellent command of spoken and written of English and Nepali. Knowledge of Terai local languages (Tharu, Maithali) would be an added advantage.
• Valid two-wheeler driving license is mandatory, able to ride a motorcycle in rural environment.

Enterprise Development Officer:

• At least 4 years of similar experience with I/NGOs and government especially in Terai region of Nepal.
• Bachelor’s degree in economics, business management, Enterprise Development and or relevant field.
• Solid working experience on business development sector and having creative idea and skill on business promotion through entrepreneurship.
• Good skill in community development, empowerment, networking, lobby and advocacy
• Good communication and analytical skills.
• Knowledge on financial management and staff supervision and development
• Good coordination, communication with community and different stakeholders.
• Fluent in oral and written Nepali and English language.
• Knowledge of Terai local languages (Tharu, Maithali) would be an added advantage.
• Good coordination skills and efficient team player.
• Experiences in humanitarian crisis/emergencies and basic understanding of WASH emergency response/reconstruction, including sphere standards.
• Knowledge and skills on Rights- based approaches, GESI, nutrition, and special needs of women in this context would be an added advantage.
• Willingness to stay and travel extensively in the project locations and ability to work under high pressure.
• Experience in planning, implementation and monitoring of ED projects in the communities.
• Skills in training, coaching, mentoring and capacity building of beneficiaries, partners and CBOs.
• Valid two-wheeler driving license is mandatory and able to ride a motorcycle in rural environment.
