Panchtara Yuwa Samrakhak Manch (PTYSM) is a non-profit, non-governmental humanitarian and development organization registered with the District Administration Office, Jajarkot, and affiliated with the Social Welfare Council. Established in 1997, PTYSM is run by dedicated young development professionals and social workers with extensive experience in rural development. Operating in Karnali Province, the organization focuses on improving food security, nutrition, livelihoods, education, disaster risk reduction (DRR), humanitarian response, protection, and disability inclusion for marginalized communities. PTYSM’s mission is rooted in equity, inclusion, and resilience, with a commitment to ensuring that women, disadvantaged groups, and persons with disabilities benefit from its interventions.

PTYSM has been implementing the Sahayatra-III project in partnership with Save the Children in Chhedagad Municipality of Jajarkot district. This integrated project includes education, child protection, child rights governance, sexual reproductive health rights, and climate change and green jobs interventions. The goal is to enhance the quality of education, protection, and child rights, with a particular focus on children from the most deprived and marginalized communities. In this context, PTYSM invites applications from competent and self-motivated Nepali candidates for the position of Project Coordinator-Education on a full-time basis.

ROLE PURPOSE:

The Project Coordinator-Education will work closely with the Project Manager of Sahayatra III, Project Coordinators of other themes, field officers, community-based organizations (CBOs), local governments, and agencies at the Palika and local levels. The role involves creating an enabling environment and facilitating the project implementation process to ensure timely and high-quality execution of activities. Under the direct supervision of the Project Manager, the Project Coordinator-Education will lead the education-related activities of the SAHAYATRA-III project, mobilizing and coordinating with stakeholders such as EDCUs, M/RM Educations, SMCs/PTSs, RCs/RPs, child clubs, youth clubs, local government bodies, ECCD facilitators, and teachers.

Staff reporting to this post: Field officers- Education.

Role Dimensions: This position is key position to lead education activities through mobilization of field Officer-Education to ensure the result of project under Education theme.

KEY responsibilities:

Project planning and budgeting

  • Facilitate and support to conduct and ensure community consultation with key stakeholders and beneficiaries for assessment, planning and designing of Education theme. 
  • Ensure proper data collection, documentation, and dissemination on education issues regularly. 
  • Capacity building of project team for the effective project activity  implementation in palika and community level. 
  • Support for making district and Local level project plan with references of agreed education project activities on monthly, quarterly basis.

Coordination, Collaboration and Networking

  • Coordinate and collaborate with Palika and district level government line agencies, stakeholders, beneficiaries, media, other project teams within organization and other service providers in different level.
  • Ensure organizational visibility and sustainability in the Palika and community level. 
  • Participate in different networks and forums and coordinate at the community level likeminded organizations for resource maximisation. 
  • Maintain good coordination with Palika level education Unit, Education committee, local government representative, school, ECD , child club network as well  Save the children in the program and maintain close coordination with as  Field officer and other thematic PC and Field officer. 
  • Harmonize, facilitate, and ensure to integrate the project components at community levels. 
  • Bridge the project related information between Save the Children and organization.

Project implementation

  • Lead the project providing support to field staff and ensure the timely conduction of project activities having quality output in Palika and ward level. 
  • Support to Sahayatra III Project team for making effective work plan of project implementation.  
  • Support to MEC/SMC for developing RMEP/SIP and action plan to education.
  • Maintain proper database, filing and documentation system and their management in the district office.  
  • Local level advocacy to increase resource allocation to Education. 
  • Lead to convene community level project activities as assigned under the program and organizational provisions in project area, schools, and communities.
  • Conduct and facilitate community level project activities with high quality, training, meeting, workshop, seminars etc.  
  • Collect feedback and learning from stakeholders and other concern agencies for the program.
  • Provides day-to-day supervision of staff and works collaboratively with other theme PCs.

Project review and monitoring

  • Frequently visit the project areas for supervision and monitoring the field level activities 
  • Support to conduct surveys, internal and external evaluations. 
  • Support for preparation and submit event wise reports to Project Manager of Organization. 
  • Monitor the regular activities of Education by supporting to Dos and Field officer- Education. 
  • Ensure for the involvement of community to review program among the stakeholders and beneficiaries. 
  • Participate in the project review meeting with project team to review planned activities of that month along with challenges faced and lesson learned monthly. 
  • Support to conduct social audit and public hearing. 

Project reporting and documentation

  • Prepared monthly project tracking and quarterly, semi-annually, and annual report and submit to Project manager and updating the information related to the project. 
  • Collect case studies/success story, action photos, learning, and challenges for the program documentation. Submit field monitoring reports to Project manager and Save the children. 
  • Prepare and submit event reports, data base along with indicator surveys. Undertaken field visits for monitoring and supervision of program personnel. 
  • Share the field visit reports to the line manager with area to be improved and betterment. 
  • Work closely with MEAL& Documentation Coordinator, Admin and finance coordinator and other thematic Coordinator to ensure the project progress is in track and quality set in the project documents are met. 
  • Initiate corrective actions based on the feedback from MEAL and Documentation coordinator and Save the children.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Candidates must hold a Master’s Degree in Education or Social Science with at least three years of experience in project management and implementation. Alternatively, a Bachelor's Degree in Education or Social Science with a minimum of five years of experience is required.
