Federal Republic Democratic Nepal is divided into 7 provinces and 77 districts. Jumla district is in the Karnali province consisting of 12 districts. CAD Jumla had been established in 2009 by the enthusiastic youths of Jumla; lawyers, social workers, health worker, journalists, human rights activists and intellectuals to facilitate in promoting human rights and continuing developmental activities based on the principle of “for the Karnali people with the Karnali people and by the Karnali people” for establishing just and prosperous Karnali region by acknowledging the adversity and diversity of the region in terms of geographical remoteness, economic hardships, traditional practices and rich flora and fauna. CAD Jumla, registered at District Administration Office, Jumla (No. 14/066/067, Date: 2066/07/26; Renewed Dated- 2079/06/31) and affiliated with Social Welfare Council (No. 27881, dated 2066/08/ 25 Renewed dated 2079/10/23) is a not profit making NGO working in areas of promoting human rights and developmental activities. It is associated with NGO federation of Nepal and has received Tax exemption certificate (10015-2079/6/30) and Permanent Account Number (304783751). It is also associated with NGO federation of Nepal. CAD Jumla has its head office at head quarter of Jumla. CAD Jumla had a lead role in Karnali agriculture and food concern group in Karnali region and is a Member of campaign food and agriculture in Nepal.

VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

Collaborative Action for Dignity (CAD), Jumla has been established in Jumla and working in Karnali region for more than 1 decade. The organization has been working on right-based action orientated multi-disciplinary areas through social mobilization especially focusing on human rights, Women Empowerment, agriculture, and School WASH. 

With contingent on funding, CAD Jumla is going to start the “Girls Standing Strong (GSS) project” in partnership with Plan International Nepal. The project will be implemented in Kanaka Sundari Rural Municipality of Jumla district. The key goal of the project is that all child, adolescent, and young (CAY) particularly girls and young women enjoy their rights to live free from child, early, and forced marriage (CEFM). For this, CAD Jumla invites applications from result-oriented and highly motivated Nepalese candidates for the following positions.

1. Position: Project Coordinator -1

Contract Type: C-SC 7

Duty Station: Kanaka Sundari Rural Municipality, Jumla (frequently movement in project areas)

Report to: Executive Director 

Salary and Benefits: As per the organization's norms commensurate with the project agreement

Minimum Qualification and Experience

  • Master’s Degree in relevant field with 3 years working experience in relevant area or Bachelor’s degree with 5 years working experience in relevant area
  • Experience in Protection, Education, ECD, Youth Empowerment, SRHR, WASH, DRR and nutrition in any field sector.
  • Good knowledge on project and stakeholder management, project scope management and conflict management, team mobilization and financial operation.
  • Experience in team leadership, coordination or direct management role
  • Experience in designing and delivering community mobilization forums and activities.
  • Experience in child protection and child protection system strengthening and influence.
  • Knowledge on project monitoring, data collection, and analysis, and report writing.
  • Ability to use basic office electronic equipment & computer applications, MS word, Excel, Power Point.
  • Strong oral and written communication in English and Nepali (local language added value) and report writing skills in English and Nepali.

Major Responsibilities

The Project Coordinator (PC) is responsible for the implementation of the project based on the project framework under the Girls Standing Strong Jumla Project in Kanakasundari Rural Municipality of Jumla district.

The position is specifically responsible to:

  • Lead and facilitate quality and timely implementation, monitoring, and reporting of the project.
  • Coordinate, supervise, and appraise the project team for quality delivery of the project at all stages and ensure efficient utilization and timely accountability of funds and resources as mandated by the project as well as during emergencies.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders including local, provincial, and local government, communities, and other influencing stakeholders in both development and humanitarian settings.
  • Generate impact and document them as field evidence of the project and, prepare and submit quality progressive reports with required documents in support of the Monitoring and Documentation Officer.
