CLEAN UP NEPAL is announcing a job opening for the role of Project Coordinator for the "Intersectional Green Futures: Advancing Climate Justice for All" Project, funded by the IM Swedish Development Partner.
Project Coordinator
Required number: 1
Duration: At least 9 months for now, with a possible extension
Location: Based in the field (Dang, Salyan, Kapilvastu)
Job Type: Full-time
Remuneration: Gross Salary per month (NPR 60,000 to 65,000)
We are looking for a passionate, proactive, and diligent individual interested and well-experienced in social mobilization and community facilitation. The Project Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of project implementation at the local level. The Project Coordinator must meet the following requirements as Essential skills and experience:
- A bachelor's or master's degree in environmental science, sustainability, climate studies, project management, or any other with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
- Demonstrated experience in project coordination or management, preferably in the field of environmental or climate justice initiatives.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively plan, prioritize, and execute tasks to meet project deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration with team members, stakeholders, and partners.
- Proven ability to work independently and take initiative while also functioning well within a team-oriented environment.
- A passion for environmental sustainability and a commitment to advancing climate justice for all communities.
- Proficient in coordination, facilitation, mobilization, and reporting.
- Demonstrates good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a challenging environment.
- Ability to work effectively with people from different backgrounds and cultures.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop and refine project strategies including Gantt Chart in alignment with organizational goals.
- Provide leadership to the project, offering guidance and support.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including funding partners, government entities, and community representatives.
- Coordinate with district partners of IM Swedish Development Partners and develop a field-level plan.
- Oversee budgetary allocations, ensuring efficient resource utilization.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director on fundraising strategies and initiatives including proposal/ concept note writing.
- Identify potential risks to project success and develop risk mitigation plans.
- Monitor and manage project risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Review project reports prepared by the MEAL Officer for accuracy and completeness.
- Ensure that all project documentation adheres to organizational standards.
- Make critical decisions regarding project direction, resource allocation, and strategic adjustments with direct collaboration with the Executive Director.
- Ensure that projects adhere to quality standards and meet or exceed established benchmarks.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives based on project evaluations and lessons learned.
- Advocate for the project's goals and objectives in various forums.
- Lead and participate in project evaluations, drawing insights to enhance future project implementations.
- Collaborate with other organizations and entities for broader project success.
- Coordinate with a consultant for the study/ research and mobilize volunteers and trainers at the field level.
- Introduce new approaches or technologies to improve project effectiveness.
- Ensure the publication of the project progress on the social site and website of the organization.
- Update regularly about the project progress and challenges to the Executive Director, and follow the instructions accordingly.
- Any other related duties as requested by the office.
