The Dalit Welfare Organization (DWO) works on Dalit and marginalized community's rights and development. Established in 1994, it is a national level Non-Governmental Organization, working across 56 district chapters in Nepal.  DWO’s key areas of work are rights-based advocacy, GESI, education and health, economic empowerment, organization development and capacity building, and DRR and climate change issues.

DWO is recruiting for the position of Project Coordinator, located in Salyan, working across both Dang and Salyan districts. The candidate will be experienced, capable, highly motivated and committed to achieve DWO’s vision. The details are below:

Designation: Project Coordinator

Duty station: DWO Salyan

Key responsibilities

  • To provide technical support on agriculture-based livelihood activities, skills-based training, income generation activities, GESI and climate change related activities.
  • To conduct regular field visits and ensure the quality of project activities.
  • To develop and design project proposals, write reports, and maintain database reports.
  • To carry out managerial and administrative tasks for the project, including staff support, budget mobilization, communication, coordination and networking.
  • To coordinate and collaborate with local stakeholders and governments and create a local fund for community groups.
  • To coordinate and communicate with the DWO team, central office and donors.

Eligibility criteria and qualification requirements

  1. Bachelor's degree in Agriculture Science (BSc.Ag) plus three years' work experience in livelihood, food security, climate change or economic empowerment, or related sector or a Master's degree in Agriculture Science with at least one year of relevant work experience. 
  2. Excellent English writing and speaking skills. 
  3. Experience in project management: project planning, reporting and documentation, staff mobilization, monitoring and evaluation, and budget management.
  4. Excellent computer skills, especially office programs.
  5. Strong presentation and group facilitation skills.
  6. Strong communication skills, including new communication technology.
  7. Demonstrable experience of MEAL, including database reporting system.
  8. Motivation and ability to conduct frequent field visits and community facilitation.
  9. A passion for community development.
  10. Driving license for a motor bike/scooter.
  11. No any criminal cases, discrimination and violence over children, women and caste based discrimination cases faced.

Salary and benefits: As per the organization salary scale or rule.
