Under the overall supervision of the National Migration & Development Officer/Head of LM & HD and the direct supervision of National Project Officer (Migration, Business and Human Rights (MBHR), Asia Program), the successful candidate will assist in the implementation of the Project ‘Promoting the Respect of Human and Labour Rights of Migrant Workers in the Supply Chains’, which aims to contribute to safeguard the human and labour rights of migrant workers in the supply chain. 

Core Functions / Responsibilities

  1. Provide administrative assistance to meet the timely and efficient deliverables, implementation of the operational, administrative and logistic activities of the Projects.
  2. Assist the Project Manager in preparing resource materials, orientation package, IEC tools/resources and it’s roll out for empowering migrants and communities, Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) on regular pathways.
  3. Assist in the administrative and logistic activities for the implementation of capacity building training program targeting Private sectors, CSOs, national and local stakeholders to support the delivery of project activities. 
  4. Assist with administrative and logistic support for organizing national and local level consultations, workshops and events and programs. 
  5. Assist the PM with the organization of visibility materials, and preparing newsletters on thematic areas under regular pathways 
  6. Contribute to the drafting donor reporting, including facilitating the preparation of interim and final donor reports in accordance with IOM procedures and donor requirements.
  7. Maintain and record electronic filing system verifying that all the relevant project documents are recorded in an organized manner.
  8. Travel to the project field sites to assist in monitoring the project activities carried out by the project partners.
  9. Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in social science, Development Studies, Law, Migration or other related field from an accredited academic institution with two years of relevant professional experience;

Or,

  • High School degree with at least four years of relevant professional experience.

Experience

  • Experience in translation (both English/Nepali).
  • Experience working in the field of humanitarian assistance or development.
  • Experience working with UN agencies or NGOs will be an advantage.

Skills

  • Knowledge of MS Excel, Word and Outlook 
  • Knowledge of microenterprise and networking
  • Skilful in coordination with beneficiaries
  • Knowledge of Monitoring activities

Languages

Fluency in English and Nepali is required (oral and written). Working knowledge of other local language is desirable.
