VACANCY

Centre for Agro-Ecology and Development (CAED)/Women, Girls, and Child Rights Program (WoGCRP) works on the issues of children's rights, girls' school education, women/adolescents sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR) and livelihoods by applying child focused approach (CFA) with the support of Asian Aid Organization (AAO), Australia. It is seeking a passionate and competent Programs Coordinator based in Surkhet district of Karnali Province with the aim to coordinate WoGCRP for the empowerment of disadvantaged vulnerable children, their families and communities and making a real difference in their lives in the remote and isolated villages of Surkhet, Dailekh and Jajarkot district. 

Position: Programs Coordinator – 1 (Surkhet Based) 

Contract Type: Initially, a probation period of three months and following the probation period, a full-time engagement for one year with possibility of renewal on annual basis.

Duty Station: The Programs Coordinator will be based in Surkhet district with frequent visits to beneficiary communities in remote and isolated villages in Surkhet, Dailekh and Jajarkot districts.

Project Location: Project locations are situated in Surkhet, Dailekh and Jajarkot districts in Karnali Province. 

Minimum Requirement and Competencies:

  • Bachelor's Degree in the course areas of children's rights, primary/secondary education, gender studies, sociology, social works, rural development or public health with 4 years of working experience or Master's Degree in the above course areas with 2 years of professional working experience in similar position.
  • Is contextualized with remote and isolated rural context, has good understanding of contemporary issues, and can walk and live with community members.
  • Has good interpersonal skills with ability to build personal and team-based relationships with staff, partners, and leaders at different levels.
  • Is critical, analytical, finds and proactively shares sources of knowledge and is a problem solver.
  • Has proven leadership skills and experiences in capacity building including trainings, workshops, coaching and mentoring.
  • Has ability to support local organizations, schools and networks and work with a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Has ability in evidence based collaborative advocacy and joint action with various stakeholders including children/adolescents, women, schools, media, civil society actors, rural municipal/municipal leaders, and officials.
  • As demonstrable in previous positions, has proven capacity to manage program donor expectations, reporting, and training requirements (as required).
  • Has excellent command of oral and written English and Nepali.
