Living Water Nepal (LWN) is a non-governmental organization that is committed to providing access to safe, sustainable drinking water for communities of Nepal. Our main focus is to improve the quality of life for the people of Nepal through safe water programs, sanitation facilities, and hygiene education.

Position: Programme Officer

Required No: 1 (Dolakha)

This position is responsible for the successful implementation of all project activities within the district, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. This position requires the officer to oversee the planning, execution, and monitoring of WASH interventions, ensuring alignment with both government regulations and organizational goals. Programme Officer is also tasked with coordinating with local authorities, communities, and other stakeholders to ensure effective project delivery, meeting the needs of the target population, and achieving the desired outcomes for improved WASH in the district. During the project implementation, he needs to travel 50% time to project areas.

Some Responsibilities:

  • Proactively coordinating, managing, implementing, and completing the organization’s projects and programs ensuring adherence to prescribed quantity, quality, and cost parameters within the timeframe.
  • Visiting the project sites regularly for implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the project.
  • Preparing and submitting quality reports based on project goals, objectives, impacts, and activities and prescribed measurements to satisfy the objectives of the organization.
  • Motivating, supervising, and giving direction to subordinates, committees, and other concerned persons to complete project activities.
  • To make the project successful by establishing and maintaining a positive relationship with communities, local governments, and stakeholders, and taking initiative for successful implementation by keeping records of their suggestions, and feedback.
  • Capturing, storing, and using the required photographs for the organization and transferring them to the upper level.
  • Effective implementation by delegating appropriated rights to subordinates, committees, and workers.
  • Coordinating project activities, resources, and team members ensuring smooth project implementation.

Qualification & Experience:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Public Health, Civil Engineering, Water Resources Management, or a related field or equivalent such as sociology, management, or other.
  • At least 1 year of progressive experience in the WASH sector preferably in remote areas.
  • Excellent computer skills (MS Office, Internet, email)
  • Ability to deliver the best result for the organization.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement.
  • Good command of written and spoken English is required for project reporting, communication with international stakeholders, and understanding technical documents and guidelines.
  • 2-wheeler bike license.
