Zoological Society of London (ZSL) is an international conservation charity founded in 1826 as the world's first scientific zoological society. During its near 200 years history, it has had a firm legacy of conservation, research, and animal care in over 50 countries, helping it pursue its vision of a world where wildlife thrives. ZSL's purpose is to inspire, inform and empower people so that they understand their roles in helping stop wild animals from going extinct. ZSL has been working in Nepal for the past 27 years. After having formally established a country office in 2014, ZSL has actively supported the Ministry of Forests and Environment (MoFE) to achieve its conservation goals across Nepal through the Department of National Parks and Wildlife Conservation. ZSL Nepal Office is seeking applications from qualified, talented and result oriented Nepalese citizens for our Programme Manager position.

1.     Programme Manager

The Programme manager (PM) will be responsible for management, implementation, evaluation and reporting of all Country programmes and maintaining a very good relationship with implementing partners and government agencies.  The PM will work closely with the Policy Coordinator to coordinate with the department of national parks and wildlife conservation, national park authorities, buffer zone management committees and local government to ensure an effective implementation of the projects. 

Qualifications: The post holder should have at least a Master’s degree in environmental science, forestry, natural resource management and/or related natural science topic with minimum 10 years of relevant experience in international development, sustainable natural resource management, organizational capacity development, working in complex political and conservation environments. Experience of managing conservation programmes at scale in Nepal is essential.
