Title: Program Support Officer (PSO)
Based in: Kathmandu with frequent visits to project locations
Reports to: Head Representative AWO International Nepal
Summary
The Project Support Officer undertakes the responsibility to provide general programmatic as well as administrative assistance and support to multi-country programmes in the Nepal office, ensuring the efficient and timely execution of plans. The Program Support Officer has a broad range of contributions, including supporting project design, proposal writing and reviewing project reports with a particular focus on achieving targets and ensuring compliance with PM & E guidelines. This role supports the Regional Office including but not limited to publications, documentation, coordination, projects, and thematic initiatives. Moreover, during emergencies, the Program Support Officer provides active and assists the team in Humanitarian Actions. The Project Support Officer directly report to and is supervised by the Regional Director.
Job Purpose:
To provide flexible support to the office of the Country Director, ensuring effective work and efficiently and promptly contributing to the ongoing program.
Applicant's Profile
The suitable candidate will meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Social Science, Rural Development, environmental science, Agriculture or a related discipline. Preference will be given to master’s degree holders
- At least five years of work experience in the field project management in an INGO, NGO or similar organization
- Knowledge of proposal writing, program designing, management and planning skills.
- Familiarity with Results-Based Project Management incl. project planning, monitoring and evaluation of projects
- Knowledge of transparency and accountability
- Advanced working knowledge of relevant computer applications
- Ability to operate in a cross-cultural environment to meet tight deadlines
- Highly organized, committed, results-oriented, team player, and willing to work outside of the comfort of his/her working station
- Excellent writing skills and fluency in written and oral English, good facilitation skills and competence in external communication and networking
- Can work with minimal supervision and possesses good time management skills; independently work in a high-pressure situation
- Ready for frequent field visits
- Knowledge of Admin and Finance will be an asset
- Applicant must have a learning attitude, good analytical skills; and be available for field trips
- Must have a valid two-wheeler driving license and excellent driving skills
