Rural Oriented Youth Movement-Nepal (ROYM-Nepal) is a non-profit making non-governmental national level organization established in 2009 with the aim of poverty reduction through skill transformation and youth engagement to achieve national development goals. ROYM-Nepal supports the country in achieving the long-term Sustainable Development Goals on human rights, health, education, gender equality, water, sanitation, environment, social protection, and justice reducing poverty, hunger and impact of climate change. In more than a decade of its working experience, ROYM-Nepal has been successfully carrying out different community development and socio-economic programs under WASH, skill promotion, self-employment, development of job incubation, and other socio-economic programs. ROYM-Nepal is currently looking for the application from qualified candidates for the following position:
Position: Program Support (Intern)
Location: Kathmandu

Position Description
Intern will support the management of the ROYM Nepal for formulation and implementation of programs in different themes. This internship provides the selected candidate with exposure to the working environment in social sector and a better understanding of management at the program and operation level.
Scope of Work:
The intern will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Program Planning and Development: Assist the senior management team in collecting necessary data for proposal and program development, as well as conducting essential research.
- Social Media Engagement: Ensure that content for the organization's website and social media platforms is appropriately organized, tagged, and categorized in accordance with organizational standards.
- Monitoring and Evaluation: Support the M&E Focal Person in field data collection, data management, and analysis to ensure effective monitoring, evaluation, and learning.
- Research: Conduct research in various thematic areas as per the organization's plan. Assist in new program formulation, communication for fundraising, and partnership development.
- Event Support: Coordinate and support the program team in event management, including planning events, developing concept notes, preparing save-the-dates, agendas, invitations, and presentations.
- Information Consolidation: Collect and compile essential information, such as drafting meeting notes, summarizing reports, and preparing briefing notes.
- Additional Tasks: Provide support in internal organizational processes, research, communication, and report writing as needed.
Supervisor: The intern will work under the supervision of the Program Coordinator.
Estimated Duration of Contract: 6 months to 1 Year (Possibility to extension upon satisfactory performance) (to commence as soon as possible)
Official Travel Involved, if any: Base location Kathmandu with possibility of field visit to ROYM’s working districts.
Organization will provide monthly stipend that covers the transportation and daily lunch package.
Required Minimum Qualification:
- At least 18 years old and enrolled in a graduate or above degree or have graduated from within the past three years.
- Background in Development Studies, Social Work Study or a similar discipline
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Passion in research and proposal writing, including database management, administrative tasks etc.
- Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and be flexible in daily workings.
- Ability to work in a diverse environment.
- Knowledge of standard Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
