Loo Niva Child Concern Group, Nepal, established in 1997, is committed to promoting the right to education, especially for marginalized children, including girls and Dalits, right to child participation and child protection. It focuses on empowering communities, strengthening accountability, and advocating for child-friendly policies. Loo Niva seeks applications from qualified and dynamic candidates for the following position under the Education Support Program (ESP):

Position: Program Officer

Project: Education Support Program.

Duration: One-year fixed contract with possible extension. The contract would be provided after satisfactory performance in a three-month probation period.

Work Hours: Full-time (40 hours per week)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, implement, and monitor ESP activities while mobilizing children, youth, and communities. Build strong linkages with schools, teachers, parents, and sponsored children.
  • Support to development of project proposals and concept notes tailored to donor guidelines and priorities.
  • Conduct research to identify funding opportunities from national and international donors, trusts, and foundations.
  • Analyze donor priorities, trends, and guidelines to align proposals with their requirements.
  • Stay updated on the latest development issues, particularly in education, health, livelihoods, and child rights, relevant to the NGO's focus areas.
  • Conduct regular monitoring of educational and family situations of ESP-supported children. 
  • Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly , and annual reports.
  • Maintain project records and document learnings and best practices.
  • Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
  • Monitor project progress and make adjustments as necessary to ensure successful completion.
  • Prepare and present project reports, including updates on progress, challenges, and outcomes.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Sociology, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in inclusive education and working with children, including children with disabilities.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in computer applications, budgeting, and accounting.
  • Behavioral Skills: Strong interpersonal, organizational, conflict resolution, and leadership abilities.
  • Language Skills: Excellent writing and communication skills in both English and Nepali.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of Nepal's education system and challenges faced by children/youths.
  • Expertise: Expertise in project design, including logical frameworks and budgeting.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure.
