Job Description

Job Title: Program Assistant (PA)

Responsible to: In Honor of Amar (Amar) Program Manager (PM)

Duty Station: Kathmandu with field visits

Responsible for: Local NGO staff, District office, Program Beneficiaries, School teachers, Friday and school facilitators

Role Purpose:

Rural Health and Education Service Trust (RHEST) is dedicated to ending all forms of violence against women, including girl trafficking, early marriage, and child labor, and to promoting woman’s reproductive health. Through its two flagship programs, RHEST is annually supporting education of around 12,500 girls at risk of trafficking, child marriage, child labor and GBV in the rural communities in 18 districts from across seven provinces of Nepal through its two flagship programs- Stop Girl Trafficking (SGT) and In Honor of Amar (Amar). In addition to providing education support, the programs also focus to build the capacity of girls to transform them into change agents to prevent Human Trafficking, child marriage, child labor and GBV. Stop Girl Trafficking (SGT) Program in partnership with American Himalayan Foundation, USA supports the education of around 10,000 girls from at risk from Grade 1-10 and In Honor of Amar (Amar) Program in partnership with Foundation for a Just Society International, Bermuda supports around 2,500 girls at risk from Grade 11 and 12.

Under the direct supervision of the Amar PM, PA will perform routine program support duties for Amar Program.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating with the beneficiaries and their parents about field visits, follow-ups through phone calls,
  • Coordinate with stakeholders like schools, government and non-government bodies through phone calls,
  • Maintaining records of communications with beneficiaries like- phone calls, letters and SMSs, 
  • Providing logistics support in organizing and coordinating program related activities including field-based events.

Requirements

  • High school graduates (+2)
  • Basic working knowledge of words and excel
  • Good communication skills
  • Learning attitude
